Metal 2014

Guessing you didn't already know teitanblood? One of the nastiest bands there is, IMO.

Lol no I didn't that's why I come to this website, you guys find the craziest fucking bands in the world. That shit was absolutely ruthless. I've listened to that song like 20 times now. I'm actually giggling with joy right now because of how epically ferocious it is. I honestly don't read the genre threads closely enough.

I did hear it and I fucking loved what I heard thank you. It seems that album is just a little tricky to find a copy of right now but it is on my wish list.

^Looks and sounds fucking sick. Nightbringer is very underrated. I have Hierophany of the Open Grave and think it's a masterpiece. I seriously need to buy their other shit. People say they sound too similar to Deathspell Omega but I don't think so.

I'm pumped for new Aborted as well.

Wouldn't Animals as Leaders be considered djent, or do I just not know what djent is exactly?

Yes. Their 2009 debut is regarded by and large as the most innovative Djent album since Obzen, and Tosin Abasi (lead guitar) is respected both in and out of the metal community as one of the greatest guitarists of this generation.

He's also done some awesome fusion stuff with one of the members of Mars Volta:

Yeah Nightbringer is impressive. They are much too...doomy to sound like Deathspell Omega, but I think they're more on the side of doing some nice mix of Nile/Demoncy and I hear some Emperor in there, except with blacker metal vocals into some black/doom metal sound that in the end is unique to them. I like the fact that this album is influenced by Nile in a way that is subtle but it works and that they're not afraid to improve on their sound as they did from Death and The Black Work. I'm going to check out Apocalypse Sun at some point.
