Metal 2014

New Exodus is ripping, for sure.

The Sanctuary record sounds nothing like Nevermore. I had this argument with a reviewer last week. The guitar playing sounds nothing like Loomis's playing. Not at all. But it's a great record.

Anyway, the new Exodus album is SICK! Zetro sounds angry and it is just fresh sounding from that band. Really glad Dukes is out.

Whaaat. I fucking hated Dukes, now i'm definitely checking that album out.

I'm also really looking forward to that Beyond Creation album.

So i guess Obscura found a new guitarist and drummer. Man, JPT leaving the band after Omnivium was a huge blow, but with Muenzner and Grossmann leaving i think it's safe to say that they're just about done.

Sounds like watered-down Nevermore to me. To be fair, though, I didn't really dig older Sanctuary either. The only album that was somewhat enjoyable was Into The Mirror Black. The new one reminds me of that album, but meh.

Summoning is working on their next album..

From Facebook:
After having turned our attention on different things during the first half of this year, we are back to concentrate on summoning again. There are already some new riff composed and rearrangements have been done of songs from the O.M.D session. Protector also started to recreate our homepage, with a total new design and updated content.

So the hammers are pounding loudly again in carven deep and far on the horizons the first ray of light are bearing witness of the return of the old ways

This record is something special. I loved it since first listen. The last track is something incredibly beautiful, it summarises the album perfectly.

Yeah, the last track "The Night Eternal" is fucking amazing. The whole album is incredible from start to finish. I've had it on repeat for the past like 3 hours.
