Metal 2014

I would love to know what songs from Siren Charms sound anything close to old In Flames...

It's a totally worthless, horrible record in all regards. No musicianship, no energy. But yea it is too bad because you're right, they used to be a phenomenal band.

I meant in terms of melodies, some of them sounded like that signature In Flames of old, but I've only listened to the album twice, I can't really tell you which songs reminded me of them and I don't feel like listening to it again lol

I want to plug a possible album of the year. Threshold has dropped For the Journey, the followup to the best album by far in 2012, March of Progress. This is immensely epic prog/traditional metal/hard rock with fantastic vocals by one of the best voices in music, Damien Wilson.

I've only listened to it once all the way through but it sounds so good. These guys are just incapable of writing bad music. All class all the way.

There's a new Vektor song up on youtube. Not sure I should post it because the quality is really bad (it's someone hand holding a camera at a live show). I'm glad there is at least 1 new song ready for the album though.. they said 2014 last year. I bet it will be 2015 before we see it though.

Thanks pyro. I went ahead and ordered it ($30 total for cd + registered shipping which could be worse) to make sure i got whatever those "Darkspace cards" are.

Im hoping the cards are more exciting than postcards but i doubt it. I just went for free shipping but it doesnt have as far to get to me so im not worried about it getting lost and ive never had problems with them before, just a massive delay when Darkspsace -1 was released.

I am so fucking happy. I thought it will be crap, however, actually I really enjoy it. This album may be added to my best 2014 albums list.

Preordered the shit out of it so i hope its good. Vinyl cd and both shirts. Love at the gates.

Btw pyro, Italy is like the Bermuda Triangle for packages in the US, which is why i bumped to registered.

Yes I came here to post it but glad to see it is already up. It sounds fucking awesome doesn't it? Espada man, how could you be worried it would sound like crap? They've never done anything bad. Tompa said in interviews the band worked really hard on this one - they tried to make it better than Surgical Steel, which is awesome. Production is sick, too.

Dawnbringer was great first because it was so fresh and different, but sadly it wore off kind of fast for me. I'll check it out though.

Edit after listening: Not really what I expected and not really my cup of tea. Not bad but I'll probably pass when the album comes out.

I was worried because I didn't think they can beat Slaughter of the Soul (I know it's not their best album, because The Red in the Sky Is Ours is mostly praised here) but that's obviously the direction they are heading to, and I was worried about Lindberg vocals, which weren't the best as I heard them live. But after listening to this song few times I see that the guitars are still satisfying. I love it.

When it comes to Dawnbringer, that track is not even close to Into the Lair of the Sun God. It seems they change vocals every album. Vocals from Nucleus are totally different from ItLotSG and vocals from ItLotSG are different from this track. Still stoked though.
