Metal 2014

Does anyone know if Acid Witch is coming out with anything this year or ever for that matter? I'm finding tour dates scheduled for this year but nothing much else.

Acid Witch seem to be pretty inactive recently, apart from Slasher Dave coming out with this album: http://bellyacherecords.bandcamp.com/album/spookhouse

Rumours of At the Gates releasing a new album:

Looking forward to the new 40 Watt Sun album as well.

This year will turn out great, new album-wise, in my opinion. Many great releases such as Nedom og Nord by Iskald (which was mentioned earlier in this thread) but also Skogen (Swe) (No date announced) and Woods Of Desolation (Feb 14th) have new albums on the way amongst others.

But the question is: will Wintersun deliver Time II this year or are additional delays to be expected? :)

That's really a shame, they're a great band thanks though. At the Gates and 40 Watt Sun releasing new shit is exciting especially ATG. The Inside Room was a good album and it's been forever since ATG released anything let alone new material.

Sounds like the new Wolves In The Throne Room album is going to suck.

Taking a different approach than their previous LPs, Celestite is a completely newly envisioned, parallel-universe version of Celestial Lineage, the beautifully blackened fourth studio full-length epic WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM released via Southern Lord in 2011. Celestite arises with a whole new, ethereal approach. There are no drums and no vocals. Rather, deep, heavy crystalline synthesizer journeying, Eno-inspired analog processing and arcane acoustic instrumentation expand upon dimensions folded within the universe of Celestial Lineage.

A new approach is automatically better than nothing for a band like WITTR, so it might be worth...well, I won't be so optimistic as to say a listen, but perhaps 2 tracks.

I remember then saying about a year ago they were cutting out the electric guitar and "metal" aspects and instead they were going to try emulate their sound using other methods. Didnt think they would actually go through with it. The ambient tracks on Celestial Lineage were pretty boring. Im sure it will be a one off. No one is going to care about WITTR if they go full ambient. It will be worse than what Alcest has become.

2 tracks will probably be the whole album, and probably 60+ minutes at that. They're long winded as is.
