Katalepsy used to be about big lurching breakdown riffs. Now it sounds like plasticky technical deathcore. Not really sure I give a shit how fast they're playing. They did what every band that signs to unique leader does and it's pretty ridiculous. The label themselves is a tech death shit hole which is sad because it wasn't always so bad.

New Lord Vicar, Kvelertak, and Grand Magus all have my attention this month. Kvelertak's second album wasn't too good tho. Probably will be disappointed again.

Extremely fast drumming usually sounds terrible.

Same. Also hoping the new Opium Warlords is out this year as well as something new by The Wizar'd as it's been fucking ages since their last album. Heard that they're supposedly putting out a new 7 inch this year.

The big one on my mind is some new Darkthrone, apparently that's out this year sometime.

Fingers crossed.

Okay. I guess most extreme metal drumming is terrible since it's extremely fast.

"Extreme metal" is a generic term, what do you mean? Because I mean drumming so fast it doesn't even sound like drumming. It sounds like a packet of Tic Tacs in a paint mixing machine.
