Metal Bands Lyricly

1. metallica
2. anthrax
3. exodus / testament tie

5. slayer, because it's funny how they can make such rediculously brutal things into lyrics

6. megadeth... he can be funny sometimes, just don't like his voice that much, which contributes to the lyrical content as far as I'm concerned... also the cheese drips off megadeth man...

Suicidal Tendencies!!! Mike Muir is a lyrical genius!!

Yes... Muir has penned some excellent stuff.

Mike Patton is great also, disguising nonsense as poetry! Mindfuck of the year! Ditto for Devin Townsend.

Jeff Walker has written the best stuff ever, such nihilistic, cynical lyrics.

Cannibal Corpse has the best lyrics when you are 13 and want to shock your parents by showing them the lyrics sheet. Seriously, vaginas, hammers and violence start to lose their appeal as serious lyrics once you get past puberty, unless you are Peter Sutcliffe.

Lyrics on romance ?

3. No Love Lost

Sensual awakening
Numbing feeling's dead
Conception's romanticised
Synthesized broken heart's to bled

Without emotion you heartstring's played
Strummed and severed to the tune of a tragic serenade

[A tragic chorus]
Without emotion, your heartstrings break
Snapped and severed to the tune of a tragic, sad cliche

No love lost
When all is said and done
There's no love lost

The low cost of loving
Amorous travesty
Human frailties and weakness are easy prey
How your poor heart will bleed

[1st lead - Amott]
[2nd lead - Steer]

(Carcass)

How about (in my opinion) the master of lyrics, Martin Walkyier (Sabbat, Skyclad) ?

2. Think Back And Lie Of England

(It's a load of old John Bull)
Cruel Britannia ruled the waves, Empire
oiled by toiling slaves. White flag stained
St.George Cross red, and blues sung for
the countless dead

God save brave Johnny Company,
stiff-upper-lipped he sipped his tea,
atop a mound of babes he'd killed,
to keep our nations coffers filled.

[Chorus]
Think back and lie of England.
Conceal the evil we have done.
Think back and lie of England.
Fake alibis for Albion

Meanwhile back on British loam,
Irish driven from their homes.
Persecuted Welsh and Scot,
and robbed them all of all they'd got.

Bound unto the plough and yoke,
they broke the backs of honest folk.
Built a gentlemen's Jerusalem.
I'm ashamed I share my race with them!

[Chorus]
Think back and lie of England.
Conceal the evil we have done.
Think back and lie of England.
Fake alibis for Albion

So will our future history tell,
how we've used this country well?
If you ask me, well I think not,
unless we watch these bigots rot.

In poverty the masses drown;
So raise a Dome in Greenwich town?
The Cenotaph is strewn with flowers,
yet arms-deals struck with fascist powers!

[Chorus]
Think back and lie of England.
Conceal the evil we have done.
Think back and lie of England.
Fake alibis for Albion

Oh, sorry for wandering from the original scope of the thread :S

I'd have to say Megadeth by preference with:

[Music by D.Mustaine/D.Ellefson, lyrics by D.Mustaine]

A cockroach in the concrete, courthouse tan and beady eyes
A slouch with fallen arches, purging truths into great lies
A little man with a big eraser, changing history
Procedures that he's programmed to, all he hears and sees
Altering the facts and figures, events and every issue
Make a person disappear, and no one will ever miss you

Rewrites every story, every poem that ever was
Eliminates incompetence, and those who break the laws
Follow the instructions of the New Way's Evil Book of Rules
Replacing rights with wrongs, the files and records in the schools

You said you've got the answers, well who asked you anyway ?
Ever think may be it was meant to be this way ?
Don't try to fool us, we know the worst is yet to come
I believe my kingdom will come

[CHORUS:]
F, is for fighting, R is for red
Ancestors' blood in battles they've shed
E, we elect them, E, we eject them
In the land of the free and the home of the brave
D, for your dying, O, your overture
M, will cover your grave with manure
This spells out FREEDOM, it means nothing to me
As long as there's P.M.R.C

F, is for fighting, R is for red
Ancestors' blood in battles they've shed
E, we elect them, E, we eject them
In the land of the free and the home of the brave
D, for your dying, O, your overture
M, is for money, you know what that cures
This spells out FREEDOM, it means nothing to me
As long as there's P.M.R.C

[CHORUS:]

Put your hand right up my shirt
Pull the strings that make me work
Jaws will part, words fall out
Like a fish with hook in mouth

Rewrites every story, every poem that ever was
Eliminates incompetence, and those who break the laws
Follow the instructions of the New Way's Evil Book of Rules
Replacing rights with wrongs, the files and records in the schools

I'm not a fish
I'm a man
Hook in mouth

(Sorry about the long thread, but I love the lyrics to all three and wanted to share!)

lol @ vaginas, hammers and violence. They're much more than that. You try writing an album full of gore songs. Aint as easy as it looks!

No, I didnt say I didn't like them, but there are a ton of gore bands that do it better...

...did anyone say Impaled ?
