Metal World Cup

A fair point. But I'm hard-pressed to find American bands that can top those original legacies. Death, Manowar, Dio, Slayer, and Megadeth probably come the closest.

Metallica also, the whole Bay Area thrash scene like testament and so on, the Florida death metal scene (obituary, atheist, morbid angel...) socal thrash (which isn't mentioned as much but there are so many good bands, slayer and dark angel for example). The big names in progressive metal from dream theater to symphony x to queensryche.

Tons of innovation here for better or worse. Hollywood glam metal, Texas groove metal, Seattle grunge etc.

NWOBHM, trad, speed, black, thrash, doom, Christian, stoner, stoner doom, all British. That's plenty of innovation. The genre period is British made, courtesy of Sabbath.

We've created death, glam, groove, and maybe power. That's what we've got in terms of good subgenre creation, nothing to sneeze at, and flattens practically everyone else, but the UK. The UK is honestly the only country on the planet I feel that beats us in producing heavy metal.

Not thrash. Speed metal or proto thrash. The first Real thrash band was right here in California. Bands that are known for being thrash bands. Motörhead is a whole different scene from thrash.
Motörhead is debatable, yes, but Venom? I've no clue how anyone could deny it with them.
