Er, do you mean the stuff you listen to looks better as notes on paper than most metal? Or that metal can't be as emotionally complex and as mentally stimulating as your music is? The thing is, people will always like what feels and sounds right to them. I love some bands that aren't metal. I hate a lot of bands that are metal. At least 70% of my favourite bands will always be metal bands though.
I think it's important to look at music as art rather than science. Last I checked, art was defined as an expression of raw human emotion. Take that away and tell people they should only like what is superior in your eyes is taking away the point of it all. How can you feel an emotional connection with something dictated, forced and mechanical? After all, if everyone listens to what you listen to, no one will try pushing the boundaries or creating anything new - which has always been important in metal as a genre.
