Michael Jackson R.I.P.

Ya know, I just checked out some Jackson today, and to be honest, although I HATE him personally, his older albums and hits aren't that bad after all.
Maybe I was a TOUCH wrong.

I still think he was a douche, but his older songs have a little zip to them.

Oh of course he's a douche/weirdo/sicko/wacko, but yeah man, Thriller-era is fucking FUNKY :kickass:

do you know him personally??? if you were put in the position of being the biggest celebrity on earth for 20 years and having every tabloid, paparazzi, scum reporter, family looking to extort you for money, terrible managers, bad lawyers, jealous family members, abusive childhood, being famous since you are 7, being the most famous person in the world, having skin disease how would you react???

i am willing to bet the stress and depression he suffered the last 10 years after being shunned and outcast and labeled as a "douche/weirdo/sicko/wacko" and the topic of many jokes and internet photoshop jokes can have a toll one someone and i wouldn't be surprised if his body which was already fragile with an odd skin disease couldn't handle it and all the scum that was his "inner circle" of advisors had him on many meds. oh and he was also nearly bankrupt, spent over 100 million dollars in settling lawsuits with over 200 families that claimed that he molested their children... give me a break. i don't believe any of those molestation charges, and considering he was never formally convicted either it is awfully unfair for anyone to make fun of him the day he dies without knowing him personally. being a celebrity you are exposed to a lot of speculation and rumor and are stereotyped very quickly. people should know better than to believe media stereotypes and daily sun-ish news. that stuff is mostly garbage and created to sell news. like jbroll said this is a music forum and he is one of the most prominent musicians in history. and he was also a father of 3 children and someone that defined an era of most people growing up in that time period of his prime. for someone to accuse someone of being a sick man without solid evidence other than a strange appearance and a high pitched voice is unfair and distasteful. frankly speaking if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all, especially if its regarding someone death whom billions of people, yes BILLIONS, cherish and admire. with the exception of murderers and just flat out terrible people it is a pretty sucky thing to be happy that they die. if son of sam died then its cool to celebrate because he was a serial killer. michael jackson is one of the biggest philantrophiosts in entertainment history, did nothing but spread a positive message, was never convicted of any wrong doing, and all his questionable actions remain, and forever will be questionable. oh and he made some great music too.

btw this isn't directed at you metaltastic i know you are just joking and yes he was an odd man but so are a lot of people. and gain, on top of everything, he made thriller, that alone speaks volumes. even if kim jong il made thriller it should be applauded in some way.

Yes dude, I was joking, of course I don't know the guy personally ("oh yeah, we used to get beers and throw rocks at passing trucks, and he told me that he really doesn't like hot sauce" )

It was a joke, I don't know much about programming either haha

no man you got me totally wrong, I was backing you up, not bashing you! sorry you got it the other way around, I was actually agreeing with you about saying how stupid it is for someone to compare MJ to BS (her initals match... bull.. hmm..), I know you weren't comparing them yourself

That makes me the stupid. I'm sorry :)

That makes it ok?

Don't remember saying that it is correct. I said that 14 year olds are not "that" innocent because where I live there are children that are 12/13 years old and have kids. Therefore, this fact has an influence on my judgement on how long innocence lasts... didn't said a word about thinking if it is correct or not.
PS: I have said it would be a NO... it isn't correct

@aramism

thank you sooo fucking much, it really felt good to read it.
I was thinking exactly the same but was kind of afraid of posting it seeing all the hatred in this thread towards him.
thanks for taking the time to write this, I think I might even print it out and keep it, might come in handy :)

I read this story at gearslutz. It was a link from a blog so who knows if it's really true, but it was interesting:

“A friend of mine was in Los Angeles 79 thru 87.
Michael Jackson had had a huge hit with Off The
Wall, and was recording the follow up.

“The sessions were arranged for a very late start,
and, after a night on the town, my mate popped
around to the studio to see the producer.

“He got into the control room to find that
everyone’s attention was fixed on the glass
window. On the other side, Quincy Jones was kicking
a pile of rags on the floor while shouting
“Silent, you mother****er! I said NO SQUEAKS!”

“It turned out the pile of rags was a gibbering
Michael Jackson. They were recording a new song
called Billie Jean, and Michael had decided
to fill every gap with his trademark whoops,
clicks and squeaks. Quincy, however, had decided
that the track would be a pared down.

“After several hours of trying to get the
singer to do what he wanted, and having consumed
large quantities of ragedust, Jones had finally
snapped and attacked the poor freak. Needless
to say, after the outburst, MJ sang the song
how he was told to, and the rest is history.”

Like I said, pinch of salt.

I've seriously lost a huge amount of respect for a fair amount of people on this forum, which I never though would happen.
When dimebag died, I was one of the many people to claim he wasn't hot shit, but I get where the defenders are coming from now.
Dimebag inspired you, MJ inspired me, it's the same motherfucking thing.
Have some fucking respect or get the FUCK out, because all the jokes going around at the minute are making me feel fucking sick, you sick cunts.

Same thing here haha. I discovered the ignore function.

I'm not using it, I refuse to use the ignore function.
And of course tony, we love you <3
i just personally think that what people are doing is pissing on the man's proverbial grave, and even it's adolf fucking hitler's grave, you just dont do that.

You guys are really ignoring cats that dissed MJ?

Wow.

I hope we can still be friends.

Well only one person, and it was not only because of this thread only but of other comments too. I seriously don't care if you don't like MJ, but I don't see the point in posting in a thread about his death just to say he was a douchebag and etc.

BTW, I didn't post that story to be an asshole. I posted it because I saw it as yet another horrific obstacle that MJ was faced with.

When I was a kid I used to record MJ songs from TV with a portable cassette recorder so I could dance to them (ya I was a fuckin dork, but I was 6). I was bummed with Michael around the '90s when he seemed a little too interested in little kids, but his songs and his charisma definitely had an impact on me and shaped what I expect from an artist and a performer.
