Most over-rated metal band/singer?

Everyone has released a shit album or two, Hell Maiden had the whole 90's..haha, anyway I think if you love what you do who cares if you are overated or underated, although I would love it if Dream Theater split up.

Phil Anslemo's voice has gone downhill since CFH, and Tom's likewise since "Show No Mercy". I like both bands, but they are overhyped, imo.

I always like Anselmo's vocals. I don't know why him and the rest of his band mates likes Kiss so much though. I hate that band with a passion.

I hate those bands that you listed but I do like some Mudvayne and I love System Of A Down man. Many heavy metallers seem to hate them but I dont care. That band has got my respect man. A lot of nu-metal bands are either just mediocre or they blow goats. I can list some more examples of those bands:

40 Below Summer - Just noise.
Adema - KoRn rip-offs.
Chevelle - Boring, typical nu-metal band.
No One - Again a boring, typical nu-metal band.
POD - ....they suck
Saliva - Poppy rapcore. Makes me want to puke.
Taproot - They're not terrible but another typical nu-metal band.
Trust Company - Linkin Park rip-offs.

And I'm not saying none of those bands have their moments. Some of them do. But it's definitely overrated big time.

I think that Guns n Roses and Axl Rose are by far the most over-rated ever...

As for "pure" Metal, Megadeth/Mustaine seem over-rated to me, even if I like or even love some of their songs... to my mind it's "only" a good band, not a legend at all.

i agree ozzy is overratted, i do like most of his stuff but he aint as good as hes made out to be,i would also agree with slayer, they dont do anything for me but ppl do seem to go on about em alot, theres also of corse all the nu metal crap but as death opeth said, lets not bothe with goin into that

i agree about aerosmith, the only time they made great music was in the 70s when they were tanked on heroin.

more overrated bands: In Flames (they're good but i dont see why everyone loves them so much and yes i know the early stuff is better than the newer)

Dark Tranquility (early stuff is good, Projector was mediocre, good ideas here and there and after that they just hit the shitter as far as i'm concerned)

others Anthrax, Metallica, Ozzy, Dream Theatre (wanker music, not progressive, wanker) anyone on the billboard charts etc etc etc

gotta say slayer, tho they rock hard their songs have no substance, especially the reign in blood era cuz its like this generic "heavy" riff, like u get generic nu-metal drop d riffs n Tom was just a drone over the top that kinda removed the personality of the songs, tho south of heaven n seasons in the abyss had some better tracks on, especially their cover of dissident agressor \m/

I'd say tallica did lose the plot but i think theyre gettin back on top even tho theyre touring with a bunch of cheesedick bands on summer sanitarium 2003, that just means they can show how much more ass they kick. Same With maiden at Download this year, tho the quality of support is better (stone sour, radioslave oh sorry audioslave ministry, marilyn manson etc)

PLUS at download guess who's on before Shadows fall on the Radio 1 stage........
