Most universally hated genre of music?

I'm sure there isnt many fans of country music here, so I'll post these here for anyone who might want to give the genre a try.

Gothic country (I tend to call it dark country music)
It's really desperate and gloomy (and kinda preachy, but you're gonna go to hell and satan's gonna get you preachy, not praise the lord preachy) ... sometimes laced with profanity (Those Poor Bastards)

16 Horsepower is phenomenal! Glad to see more love for them. David Eugene Edward's new band (Woven Hand) is great as well; they're a bit less "country" (they drop the banjo for the most part) and have a much more folky, tribal sound.

Well 16 Horsepower is good stuff, but it is more folk than country.

Agreed, although they are related. "Country," in my opinion, raises images and thoughts of contemporary pop shit (i.e. Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith), which is why I prefer to classify bands like 16 Horsepower as folk. But as Krow said, they are very "southern gothic."

I believe that shitty/shallow music is what is allowed into mainstream by TPTB to keep people on as shallow a mental state as possible.

Studies have recently been released that music opens new pathways in the brain, so it would follow that more complex music would open more pathways, IE making people more capable of rational thought (at least to a minor degree). This is not what the heads of corporations want (at least). They need mindless consumers, the political parties need mindless voters (Obamites and Palinites), etc.

I would tend to agree with this also. It just follows and I think that we can all agree that commercial music in general(for the last 15 years) should be the most universally hated. But people still sadly just eat this shit up.

Now who's up for some progressive punk??? Is that possible?

I can approve of "southern gothic", which would be very blues based. Modern or old country though is pretty horrid in general but for different reasons. Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton are imo much harder on the ears than Kenny Chesney. Those other bands Krow posted were nothing like 16 Horsepower and did not like them at all.

"got it going on" - you mean LEG HAIR

I love Italian byproducts: food, art, and Italo Disco music. I'm just not fond of the whole "being loud and macho" culture. You could say that applies to a good portion of the world but in my limited experience Italian tourists are the worst ever.

I dunno about most hated genre but one band that really makes my blood boil is The Black Eyed Peas, everytime I hear this band i'm filled with disgust but mainly embarassment.I was once stopped at a traffic light and the car next to me had this young rather obese chick in it and she had that 'humps' song going really loudy and I just could'nt believe it.The band to me is the most embarassing, childish musical act ever.

Anyway Italian girls have got it going on so stfu.

:err:

I'd agree with Crunkcore but I don't think enough people actually know what it is.

Seriously though, how can anyone enjoy this?

Death Metal is pretty hated.

It doesn't have a large enough audience to be the most hated genre though... in other words most people never hear it or know virtually nothing about it. Thus genres like Country and Rap which are hugely popular are at the same time much more hated than death metal.
