Most universally hated genre of music?

Disco is fairly well hated by just about everyone. Rap is sort of loved by the mainstream but also hated by shit loads of rock snobs and other musical snobs everywhere.

I like at least one thing from all the genres of music that I've heard, except for Country. There is not one single song, or even part of a song, that I like in the whole entire Country genre.

Listen to more country, it's hard to judge and entire genre, without really looking and trying to find all the crazy underground stuff thats been done with it. I feel like all genres have the potential to be good, even if no one has done it yet.

I would say certain genres of rap are hated. Stuff like dance rap is fucking terrible, but I know a ton of people who listen to old school style stuff

country music is certainly not the most universally hated genre. in fact i believe country sells more than any other genre and it's not just in america. garth brooks alone has sold 8 billion cds.

I'd have to say death metal. True, a lot of people here love it, but if you talk to most painfully average people they usually say they like anything but death metal.

I'm comparing its popularity to country music, which many people in this thread claim to be universally hated. I love classical, and it's sad to see that most people don't appreciate it.
