Movies

Also, caught Batman Begins again on HBO....awesome, awesome movie. Easily the best Batman, so f'ing dark and ruthless, can't wait for the next one.

I was quite surprised by that one, and it's doubtless the best Batman flick so far. I really like how it treats batman and the whole hero scenario so seriously and really delves deep into both the way of him getting there and the philosopy behind it all. The only thing I seriously disliked was the ending; standard Hollywood ending type 1A with an exciting precarious fighting scene with the hero and the mega crook

Watched American Beauty yesterday and concluded that it's one of the best movies I've ever seen. Period.

The worst thing about Batman Begins for me was Katie Holmes. Her character sucked but she looks/acts like a mongrel, and this is before all the Tom Cruise debacle.

Walter, I love you but sooner or later you're going to have to realize that you're a goddamned moron

I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand! Cross this line, YOU. DO. NOT! And dude, Chinaman is NOT the preferred nomenclature... Asian American.

just caught BEFORE SUNSET, the sequel to BEFORE SUNRISE, on HBO ... this flick is so sad in so many ways ... second time I see it ... but once it was enough ...

I could probably recite the first 45 minutes of that film word for word. About 20 years ago friend of a friend made the most bizarre mixtape in the world, which consisted of various movie quotes repeated over and over again, many of which came from Sgt. Hartman. I need to find that tape, it was simply called Jot's and nothing more, never met the dude that actually did it.

Anyhow, I just finished watching the last episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Very good series that will likely have me thinking over it for a long time to come. In fact after finishing them I'm not sure how well I'll sleep tonight, have a feeling my mind will be reeling. Need to watch the movies now.

you must follow up the series by watching the Evangelion Movie "The End Of Evangelion". It's a reimaging of the end of the series, since mostly everyone hated that so much. Also, this movie is one of the most incredible things ever, so you must see it ASAP. Don't bother with the "Death and Rebirth" movie, it's crap. The first half is the series condensed into a very short time, and the 2nd half is the first part of End of Evangelion, total waste.

What's so sad about this movie? Only thing that's sad about the dubbed German version is the annoying voice of the chick... :erk:

well ... Before Sunrise came out on 1994 and I saw it then ... oddly enough I was in some similar situation in my private life as the movie portrayed ...
so Before Sunset ... 9 years later, was really wierd ... and how we all become jaded and bitter, losing our naivete over time ....

those 2 movies are great if watched at the appropriate times in your life.

last night I sat through DUNE - The extended edition

wtf is this shit? I loved the regular version of dune, but something about this extended edition seems to have screwed it all to hell. I have no idea what was added/changed/whatelse but I don't seem to like it >:O

Yep, already have a bid on Egay for The End since Netshitz doesn't carry it.

I liked the ending of the series actually, but probably because I was setting myself for something inconclusive/introspective/bizarre since everyone I talked to said "the ending sux." Unpredictable + weird series = doesn't need everything wrapped up in a neat little package at the end.

the movie ending is beyond bizarre as well, but it precedes it with massive robot battles and gunfights and insanity and blah blah blah

LORDS OF DOGTOWN :kickass:

Total ruleage. And I'm not (nor have I ever been) into the whole skateboard, surf, x-games scene, but seriously, this is a great piece of film making.

Amelie

Yeah that pretty much ruled. Very creative directing, reminded me a bit of Snatch in the way they really played with celluloid. I would say that isn't done enough but that's what makes movies like this one really special.

The Animatrix

First 3 = :kickass: next 6 = :guh:

Also watched Lyckantropen for probably the 3rd time. New bint liked it + dug the music. :kickass:
