Movies

Edit: Great, this post started page 150 of this thread, separating it from Dorian's post and effectively ruining the joke. God damnit, thwarted again.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, don't feel like reading back, but I saw "The Departed" the other night and it is fucking great. I would highly recomend it. Don't bring anyone who dislikes language/violence, it is full of both. It is one of those movies you can only really see once and get the full effect because you know what happens and the suspense it gone. It is definatly worth going to see in the theater in my opinion. Good stuff.

yes, great reviews all around ... everyone says this is classic Scorsese ... need to check this out asap

I read that it's just a remake of Infernal Affairs which I haven't seen. The review hinted that Departed was not as good as Infernal.

i rented v for vendetta and lucky # slevin tonight

was gonna rent LOst season 1, but some greedy fuck decided to put just 3 episodes on 7 different discs, instead of 1 or 2. that=trivium

Fire
First lezzzzzzzbo film from India. Pretty funny parts, cool music, filmed pretty well. Sorta boring though, but at least the bints were hot and you get a little titty.

The Hills Have Eyes (1977)
What. The. Fuck! That sucked balls. Fucking awful. Not even fun in a stupid sort of way. I want my 89 minutes back.

Short Cuts
Pretty okay, but nothing special. I really liked Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Penn, the rest didn't do much for me. Oh well, it was like Crash but actually decent instead of complete tripe.

Two Women
My monthly Iranian film. :loco: Pretty damn good! The lead was amazing and the story was quite touching. I need to see some of the director's other movies, apparently she's in regular trouble with the law over yonder for making "provocative" flicks. Eejits.

Also watched The Wicker Man again, woman loved it. Tonight is Creepshow and maybe more Simpsons Treehouse of Horror. :kickass:

I watched this over at my ex's house and me and her brother laughed our asses off the whole time because it was so bad.

"Beowulf and Grendel"
Fucking funny for the most part! I might have taken it more seriously had I not been watching it with several friends. Best line in the movie: "AHM BEOWULF!" Says it three times. Grendel was funny as hell, especially when he fucks/rapes that chick. Other than that it was an okay movie.

"Grudge 2"
I liked it for the most part. Not as freaky as the first one, and the ending was kind of blah. Check it out if you like the first one. This seems like one of those movies that could go on and on and on...

"The Glass House"
Not bad; interesting plot, suspense, etc. Better than I thought it would be.

Dave Shitpelle's Block Party: we rented this for the footage of our respective hometowns. Following the 3-second clips of each, the "movie" goes on to revel in Central State University (hellhole if there ever was one), unfunny ad libbing, and about 90 minutes of terrible terrible music. Dave Chapelle is simply not funny (at least he admits it) and this movie really really sucks. Don't rent it.

Firewall: terrible.

The Sentinel: terrible.

Failure to Launch: worst movie I've ever seen. Matthew Mcconoughey is a goddam joke.

We still have Match Point and Elizabethtown to watch to round out this awesome batch of rentals. I might just jerk off with a condom and a pillow instead.
