Movies

they say Dalton was what Ian Fleming had in mind while writing the Bond novels. i enjoyed him as Bond in the two he did.

i hear the same thing about this new guy. he does look the part.

to me, the Brosnan movies were all flash, no substance. and getting bond girls like teri hatcher, denise richards, and halle berry did not help.

i want unknown hotty slut, not a former tramp-of-the-week desperate housewife

You guys actually like Bond movies? They're terrible! Blistering hot chicks but no nudity whatsoever; ninety minutes of bad dialogue and reluctant violence; a reputation predicated on nonsense. I have no idea how this character has become such a pop icon.

Did you see this yet? Seriously, if you haven't, you're missing out. The character of James Bond has been totally transformed into what he should've been all along.

I would like to see this and believe it ... as otherwise I am with Dorian & his rant in the above post.

Never saw the big deal with Bond and why its such a huge franchise.

Numerous "one off" same genre movies have been made that are far superior to most Bond flicks.

heck, Austin Powers was more enjoyable than Bond :loco:

Not a "one-off" per se, since it was a TV series back in the 60s (with Roger Moore), but I thought The Saint pretty much owned any dumb Bond movie. And Elizabeth Shue? Fuck me. Where'd she go?

So Clerks 2 was surprisingly awesome ... and while I don't think it knocked Chasing Amy off the #1 position of fave KS movies ... it might after a few more viewings.
How the fuck he balanced total balls out vulgarity with genuine touchy moments is beyond me ...

Quoted for fucking truth.

You really have to forget the existence of all previous Bond movies and just go for it. There's no cheese, no faggy gadgets, no supersluts, just film noir and violence.

Is that out on DVD now? I need to watch that again.

As for Bond, I've always liked the movies but have hated the character. I hope this new guy can change that.

Clerks 2 is awesome. I am Pillow pants The Pussy Troll.

Connery= The best Bond. Gold Finger and Dr. No are the best

Dalton= Second best. License and Living Daylights are both excellent. Benecio Del Toro in License was an awesome bad guy henchmen.

Moore and Brosnan are both in a similar boat. Golden Eye was by far the best one for Brosnan. Man With The Golden Gun is Moores.

Daniel Craig will be a great Bond if given time to fill the role completely.

George Lazenby only got one chance and wore a kilt. While very very good didnt really help the fact that it was the first Bond that got married. On Her Majestys Secret Service is actually a good Bond film , just underrated.

"Clerks II"
It was okay. Funny, but not extremely hilarious. Can't say if I like it more than the first one or not.

"Hostel"
Disappointing. Everything I had heard about the movie was exaggerated. Everyone said "Oh, there's so much sex in it!" There wasn't really that much, and the sex that there was, wasn't as graphic as some people had said. Also, it wasn't as gory as I'd expected it to be either. Storywise, it was interesting, though disturbing.

The only thing mentioned here was about the inordinate amount of boobies in the film. I don't recall anyone saying anything about sex. Imo, sex can be left out of all movies that aren't pure porn. I don't want to see simulated sex. I don't want to see porn either really but sometimes you just gotta...well, you know.

Didn't like the new bond movie, taken purely as an action film it has one cool sequence and lots of poor drama, taken as a bond film it wants to be far more serious than the plot deserves. MI3 seriously owned it in pretty much every way.

i did not see the Bond flick, but MI3 was pretty krap ... and for some reason I think the new Bond is better, even for the fact that Cruise is NOT in it.

saw Superman Returns ... super emotionless film, I could not give two shits about anyone in it.
the kid playing Superman was pretty good though ... at mimicking Reeve that is.
