Movies

If you haven't already, find and watch Re-cycle.
Pretty new movie from the Pang brothers. Seemed cliche at first, then suddenly trailed off into an entire different environment. A few inspired elements as well, big enough to have a role in the movie, but small enough not to be used as a gimmick in the movie either.

I think Collateral is great. I just watched Miami Vice , which Micheal Mann filmed as well, and it was actually pretty good. Not as good as Heat or anything but it was pretty good.

"Hostel"
Disappointing. Everything I had heard about the movie was exaggerated. Everyone said "Oh, there's so much sex in it!" There wasn't really that much, and the sex that there was, wasn't as graphic as some people had said. Also, it wasn't as gory as I'd expected it to be either. Storywise, it was interesting, though disturbing.

 I probably added to the exaggeration, I really liked the movie.

Saw the new James Bond last week, and I have to agree with some of you guys on here. I really wasn't a big fan of the Brosnan movies, but I liked the darker image in this one and I thought Daniel Craig played the role well

The only thing mentioned here was about the inordinate amount of boobies in the film. I don't recall anyone saying anything about sex. Imo, sex can be left out of all movies that aren't pure porn. I don't want to see simulated sex. I don't want to see porn either really but sometimes you just gotta...well, you know.
It was mostly people from school, etc.

"Clerks II": What is it that Jay and Silent Bob are always listening to? Sounds like King Diamond or something. Pretty cool.

"You, Me, and Dupree"
Pretty funny. Owen Wilson usually keeps me entertained.

"Lucky Number Slevin"
AMAZING MOVIE.

Good Night and Good Luck: so boring I had to watch the thing over the course of a couple nights. Fortunately it was only 90 minutes. There was no reason to make this movie. Avoid.

Munich: I thought this was great. Epic length - I'm tired of watching movies that are 80-90 minutes long. This fucker clocks in at 166 minutes. Brilliant acting from Eric Bana; most of the movie had me on edge wondering if they were going to pull it off, who was a double-agent, and/or who was going to start hunting them. The chick who played Bana's wife was ridiculously gorgeous.

I only mentioned the King Daimond/ Cclerks thing like three weeks ago. Invisible Guests and Welcome Home. AnywayaAnyone go out and get Pirates 2. Funny shit. Needed more Running Wild though.

bought MIAMI VICE on dvd today ... can't wait to watch this again.

heard there is a extended directors cut coming out adding about 30-40 minutes to the beginning (yes, the beginning) of the movie ... setting up how they end up in the nightclub (where the theatrical version starts)

damn this flick was great

"Cars"
Cute; typical Disney movie. Entertaining, with some subtle humor aimed at the more mature viewers.

What is the big fuss over Miami Vice? I watched 80% of the film this morning expecting kick ass dialogue, action, and suspense. What I got was a 40 minute love scene between Colin Ferrell and that asian dame. Mojito scene, followed by sex scene, followed by dance scene, followed by shower scene, followed by spooning scene, followed by salsa scene, which was then followed moments later by a scene that witnessed the chick snuggle up with the drug lord and spoon him too! WTF?!?!?

This is miles away from the awesomeness that was Collateral.

with Mann films its all about the fusion of cinematography, music and contemplating life ... with sudden bursts of mayhem sprinkled in

on that level it worked fantastic.

if you were expecting MTV style Miami Vice from the TV series ... you were in for a dissapointment

I was expecting the kickassery of Collateral, so far I'm hugely dissapointed. It feels like I'm watching fn "Titanic".

BTW, That first quick shootout, was probably the coolest one I had ever seen. So yea, there are some redeeming qualities to the film.
