Does a girl's taste in music affect how you like them? I'm curious since I always hear alot of guys like "OMG itd be kick ass if I found a girl that likes metal." But do you guys think it makes a difference, maybe bonus if they like metal? or perhaps minus if they like metal? please share

It's usually nice when they're casual rockers, certainly a bonus when they know their Metal. Helps break the ice :)

I agree. I find most metal girls are fat and unattractive. Also some guy told me when we were talking about Reverend Bizarre, that War Elephants is actually eurosland for fat goth girls. Enlighten me.

I'm starting to think that I wouldn't like it, don't you find it cooler when it's differing tastes and you can expose eachother to more?

I think it would be best if a girlfriend was into music (good music, not crap [used loosely: ie. not pop-rock or radio shit]). That would be ideal.

Well, I honestly believe that you don't take shits on derick's chest during sex (although I may be completely wrong here).

it does not matter at all. Personally, I'm more interested in their legs, boobs, butt, face and maybe a little personality than their musical tastes.

Jesus there are so few chicks that like heavy music; even more importantly, those that do, usually dont understand the music, and instead are enthralled with the image of heavy music.

I think chicks dig the more plastic and present seeking musics like pop and dance music; those that have no eternal longings like symphonies some metal etc.

This is about where I stand. The girl doesn't have to be into metal, but if they are open to it and other music forms that's cool. I love sharing music with women, if I can't do that I really can't connect with them.

The wife was a 'dead-head' at one point, listening to Grateful Dead etc throughout college days. Alongside that she got into classic rock - Floyd, Zeppelin, Cream (mine), and Sabbath records courtesy of older brother. Of course, she was familiar with some mainstream metal: Metallica, Megadeth (we have two copies of Cryptic Writings in our house, awww), White Zombie.

Then on my side, I came into the equation with more underground metal, depressive English pop-rock (Stone Roses, Smiths, Radiohead, Verve) etc, and the obligatory 70's Swedish porn soundtrack that every marriage needs to survive.

Bands that we both like equally: early Sepultura (her fave by far, she even has a beanie), Mercyful Fate, Radiohead, Black Sabbath, folk stuff like Empyrium, Forseti, and Tenhi, Falkenbach (especially the last one), and Blur.

For a while, our CDs were stacked together. But now I took out all my metal shit and gave them their own rack.

Yeah, sharing a love for music is vital, but it doesn't need to be identical. I've never understood people that aren't into any specific music and just live life by flicking through an FM radio.

Women that are musically inclined = HOT. Were I to craft a Dream Woman, we would spend most nights jamming on some 30 minute trip out session, then bang like wild banshees on the drum riser of our home studio. That would rock, just like this: :kickass:

A lot of people treat music like what kind of Doritos they like best, I can't even comprehend it.

Well... if a girl listened to Negura Bunget and Enslaved, naturally I would love her about 325352549999 times more, but as long as she is a good, caring, devoted, etc. person, than it doesn't matter what music she listens to. Unless she like country or rap. Anything else is a-okay.
