Kind of off what we are talking about here but still on topic. I read in the paper today that there are Muslims in England saying death to UK. How fucked is that - death to the country in which you live; i say fuck them off back where they came from. I have no time for that kind of shit, love it or leave it.

Muslims rioting all over the world because of a cartoon, quote]what the fucking hell could you put into a cartoon that could possibly be causing world wide rioting??? I haven't seen this cartoon, so I don't know if it's specifically making fun of Muhammed or how the hell it could possibly be so much more offensive than the cartoons making fun of Jesus that Americans see on TV every single fucking day
could somebody explain this to me??? or at least show me the cartoon being mentioned???

My favourite movie too:headbang:

By the way, those Danish products that the Muslims are boycotting - that would be bacon, lager and porn?

Never forget the Legos

You can see the offending cartoons on the Anthrax forum right now, on page two of the thread "Some hypocritical shit".

It is not in the western interest to have this "war on terror". It is only harming us, making us lose soldiers lives, be targets for terrorists and waste billions of pounds. The question is how bothered would Israel be about the above consequences of bombing Iran? They probably stand to gain more than they would lose.
Did not George Bush say, in the recent speach he made to the nation, that America would NOT ALLOW Iran to develop a nuclear weapon. That sounds pretty much a declaration of war.

The "waste" is going straight to weapon manufacturers, rebuilders and other contracted companies. Also it serves as an excuse for US to establish a strong presence in middle east. It is very much in interest of someone in the west. Lives mean nothing when there's money and power involved. If someone is actually still thinking that war on terror has anything to do with fighting terrorism, please open your eyes.

the reason that there were any american lives lost at all after 9/11 is simply because Bush is trying to figure out how to comepletely take over all the oil in the middle east and he doesn't giva a rat's ass how many americans have to die in order to acomplish this goal
If it were ever actually about retaliation he would have put all our exclusively american oil-saving technology to use and he would have used our faster-than-sound jets with missles/atom bombs/hydrogen bombs and he would have found a way to kill every one in the middle-east without actually endangering the lives of any americans

Yes the arms dealers benefited and Haliburton taking over the oil is another thing, that's true. Israel benefits from these aspects also. Israelis produce and sell arms, and most multinational capitalist companies have many Jewish shareholders or are run by them.

Fourth, we are not going to do anything in Iran, as CHina and Russia are both supporting the country. If we were to start bombing, they would divert the oil to CHina and Russia. And Iran is the no.2 producer of oil.

Bingo.
The most the US/West can do to Iran would be to knock out their weapons manufacturing capabilities before nukes are developed. (if possible)

The West simply can't afford an invasion & regime change or occupation as it would almost certainly provoke Russia and China into a potential third world war. If those nations consider their oil supply to be in danger, you can bet your life they'll retaliate against the West. And the old idea of the unwinnable nuclear war rears its ugly head once again.

Always, it comes back to resources and concerning the Mid East it's OIL.

As an aside, I did some reading on Saudi Arabia a while back.

One of the most interesting things I learned is that something like 75% of all students of higher education are obtaining degress in theological studies. The best minds aren't learning egineering, medicine, economics, etc.

So how can the nation become an enlightened nation? :err:

Update: Syrian protesters set fire to Norwegian and Danish embassies in Damascus.

Just proves even more so how utterly pointless trying to reason with these people is. A few cartoons resutls in the burning of embassies. Norway had nothing to do with this anyway, its just plain ridiculous now. The muslim world it just making itself look worse with everything they do. How can they expect respect after all of this? I seriously doubt people will feel sympathy for them now, they are just acting like bullies towards anyone who is not following their religion.

I'm danish and I didn't have anything to do with the cartoons either.....The journalists and the newspaper which printed the cartoons didn't ask me or anyone else of the 5,1 million danes whether to publish the cartoons or not! It's totally fucked up.

They don't react on their own, someone guides them! And those who react are extremists! For example, there was a book in Greece describing a scene of Jesus Christ with Maria Magdalene and the Orthodox priest by brainwashing the people went out and burned as many copies as the could acquire, resulting to the book becoming a best seller. Just because someone wants to show its power or cover something that the people's ear shouldn't here! I write something about Christ and they use it to redirect the people towards me instead of the real problems!

The cartoons were commisioned by the editor of the Danish newspaper they appeared in. The cartoonists were concerned about the consequences of doing those images but the editor put pressure on them. I don't remember the name of the paper, but the editor's name was Flemming Rose. Rose is a very common Jewish name, and editing papers is a very common Jewish job, and publishing images which inflame Muslims..... well you know what I'm saying!

I don't intend to stir up enmity, but it's disheartening to see that a thread started about the dangerous fanatical nature of radical Islam is now transforming into a bashing of America, the West, and Jews. The fact is that we are in the midst of a war between two cultures whether we acknowledge it or not, and I'm betting that everyone here, even those who harbor deep criticisms of the West, would much rather that the Western model of civilization win out over the dark oppression of the Middle Eastern Muslim model. Despite all of the flaws of American and European political systems, it is in the interest of every one of us, regardless of political philosophy, to unite in opposition to the Islamist holy war.

I agree somehow with jaen since he is coming from a city called athens (i was born in athens, greece). It is not just a fight between two cultures or two religions. It is deeper it has to do with power with who is in charge of the other, who is on top, who handles the resources etc. Don't you think?
