Need more stuff like Rust in Peace, Alice in Hell, or Never Neverland

OK I'll check out the other samples. Heard of Agent Steel (never heard 'em) so I'll look into it.

Necuratul, I honestly don't know how you can have such a deep insight into almost every metal album, every metal genre! There are some people here who have been listening to metal for over 20 years. The fact that you can list stuff like:

Intruder's first album
Iron Angel's second album

I mean, I've never even heard of this stuff! :tickled: And then you can probably also list some Lithuanian black metal band who released a 100 unit 7" demo back in 93. Do you have some rainman like memory!? \m/

By the way, I just assumed everyone in this thread knows both "Alice in Hell" and "Never Neverland" inside out, right?! Kind of the precursive requirement I suppose. :guh: :loco:

No Place for Disgrace from Flotsam is such an underrated disc ... as well a Cuatro

Big reco for both!!!

I'll just say this: I have the luxury of both the vast reaches of the internet and the hindsight of the many others who've come before me who've guided me. Having these things during your youth, when you have shitloads of spare time, is quite an advantage.

Hey, the Angel Steel and Artillery stuff isn't too shabby.

Lots of good stuff coming out of this thread now. :kickass:

By the way, does anyone here actually own the HOLY TERROR CDs? If so, did you buy them individually or on the 2CD double release? I normally hate those 2CD re-releases.

BLIND ILLUSION ... although not sure if this falls in the "melodic" category ... wacky and awesome, yes, melodic not so sure.

And you'll pay through the nose for a copy. :)

Blind Illusion is weird....Some of it is really rawktastic, then it gets all weird, then it goes in another direction, sometimes even getting psychedelic. I think a better production would probably help get their point, if their was a one, across...if ya know what I mean.

I mean it was Lalonde and Claypool ... what can you expect ... compared to Primus BI was downright straightforward ... I think they were labeled hippie thrash back then.

the production is lacking though, you're right.

Yes, it was called Hippie Thrash. :tickled:

Definitely, one of the weirdest thrash albums I ever heard.

I have the Mind Wars CD. I could only find Terror & Submission in the 2CD re-release. I picked it up and now have an extra copy of Mind Wars lying around somewhere.

I don't like double CDs either, but I also didn't want to spend a shit load of money on both CDs because I think they are rare? I got the Double CD for 20 bucks.

I've never seen original copies of Holy Terror on CD...I've come across the vinyl a couple of times, but never CD.

quick update:

So since this thread, I've bought:

Alice in Hell
Killing is my Business
Peace Sells

:tickled: can't really go wrong there now can I? Might as well start at the top.

Right then,

Artillery's "By Inheritance" is excellent...but hard to find. Tell me where to buy it and I'll buy it now!

Liege Lord is very good....but currently going on eBay for $75. Er, ok.

Not that they necessarily belong in this thread but I have to mention Deceased. I've bought both: Supernatutal Addiction and Fearless Undead Machines

Heathen - Victim of Deception.....really good, but I'm still spinning / sampling it. Looks promising.

I've given Helstar's "Nosferatu" so many chances now, and I'm sorry but James Rivera has the WORST FUCKEN FAKE VIBRATO ever going for any vocalist. That said, the music is SO good, I'm willing to keep trying until I find his vocals acceptable. Oh man, "Baptized in Blood" -- right off the bat he just drags that band down into his terlit.

HOLY TERROR -- now this band is killing me for two reasons. (A) I can't find their CDs anywhere, and (B) that vocalist reminds me of someone and I can't put my finger on it. Awesome stuff, gotta love those "stream of conciousness" style NWOBHM vocals over bay area thrash. Great combo.

REALM - some of the vocals are :kickass: and some are ...

Wrathchild America -- too early to tell, nothing that has me screaming for mercy....but otherwise, no comment.

WTF...I bought Master Control about two years ago for like $7. The cheapest CD copy I could find for you is $22 + $4 shipping on Music Stack. :zombie: Jesus fuck, when did this happen?

Heathen's second album, Victims of Deception, might just be better. It's also out of print but being rereleased before too long.

Morbid Saint is pretty much just straight-up thrash metal but holy fucking crap are they good at it. I'll upload something from Spectrum of Death when I get around to it.
