I may actually end up going to the Milwaukee show though instead of the Chicago one since it is a Saturday.

The Gods in Asgard were looking out for me. Glad the MA date is a few days before the big date!! Won't see you in NY, but I'll catch the tour in Worcester hopefully!!
 
So much for the rumored Candlemass / Symphony X / Nevermore tour!!!

Probably a pass for me, but damn, the Chicago fans got lucky with having this at Reggies. Nice intimate setting. Get there early!!!
 
The first time I'll be intentionally skipping a Nevermore tour. So sick of Mutiny Within already and don't care about the other bands. I'm positive that if I wait a little while there will be another tour with a better lineup in 2011.

Well, I suppose this was just speculation based on one Twitter post, so who knows. Yeah, this is a VERY weak touring lineup. How the hell are people supposed to get excited for these tours? These aren't the days of "book em and they will come" where people looked at shows as the headliner and just some random openers.

As CD sales plummet, the number of tours rise. People are pickier than ever with the shows they attend. Its impossible to go to all. A show like this on paper is very meh.

While I agree with you on the tour's overall package quality, I think the fact that this is really Nevermore's first US headlining tour in a long time (if not ever), will most likely draw enough people to sell out a few dates (NY comes to mind). They are certainly the main draw. I actually doubt the attendance figures will be affected because of the lineup. We'll see.
 
Oh, I think the tour will do very well.
No doubt about it.
I suppose the tour's booking agent feels this too, and felt it didn't need a stronger opener or co-headliner to do well.

Seriously though, for each town, there will probably be another date at the same venue with one of those openers appearing.

I see it all the time, where bands like Powerglove, Mutiniy Within, Warbringer, etc are coming to town twice in a 3 month period.

I agree. Backup bands have never been a reason for me not to go really. Sure, sometimes it's hard to sit through but the headliner is why I go, and I for one have never seen Nevermore live.
 
Ha ha....guess I haven't been paying attention much lately. I'm actually considering going to see this show BECAUSE it has Mutiny Within on it. I saw them open for Sonata Arctica and was blown away. If I go to this show, it will be to primarily see Mutiny Within. I guess my point is, I can't be the ONLY person who thinks this so there may be some reason these bands keep showing up and part of that reason could be that some people actually like them. I emphasize part of the reason.
