Nevermore Vs..........iced Earth

yeh it was an early favorite for me too when i was still getting into them. before i was into the more synthy parts or the newer albums. now i love the synthy parts heh.

the synth parts remind me of raves and shit, which I resent as much as casper the friendly ghost

I fucken hate that piece of shit.

haha yeh. i had that same attitude when i was your age. i fuckin hated anything to do with techno. but then i found there's more to techno and synthesizer than that raver dance shit that just goes boom boom boom boomboomboom ya know? theres tons of awesome ambient techno thats very layerd and skillful. and bands like kmfdm, kovenant, skyfire, cob, kalmah..etc that use synth right along with 'traditional' insturments to make some great music.

if i am assuming that 'core' is a good thing, i would say that theres no doubt you would like skyfire as well. kovenant is a weird band and all their albums are kinda different. they used to be black metal but slowly changed into more industrial synthy type shit that i like a lot. dunno if you would though. but if you like kalmah and cob you should like skyfire as well.

Still not going to buy Mind Revolution....

This thread hasnt reached 2000 yet? Curious.

In regards to the original point, since Barlow is leaving IE, they will never even compare to Nevermore. Unless, they try and get someone big to sing, which they might be able to at this point.

Page three and falling. For shame, guys.

I shall now attempt to re-ignite conversation with the following statement: Iced Earth could become a much better band now, because without such a versatile vocalist, Jon may be forced to return to their utterly badass thrash-metal roots (stopping the slow gheyifying process that Blind Guardian has fallen total victim too). I miss Matt, but if his departure yields a return to the Stormrider/Offerings sound, then I won't miss him too much.

this album seems to be very VERY subjective
it's either love or hate

I...love

it's just so, perfect
lyrics, fantastic
musical composition, BEAUTIFUL

my personal opinion is that, they went for a more classical approach by adding many more layers to it, and since metal, in essence, is supposed to be simplistic, alot of people heard so many things going on it simply left them dumbfounded

me, I like to dissect music, and listen to it carefully....I like classical arrangements

I LOVE THIS ALBUM.

just do MOI a favour and after you say, "it's crap" finish it off with a good ole, "IMO"

one mans crap is another mans porn stash....or something

i dont like the way that dude does his vocal layering chorus shit. BG is somthing i would be ashamed to have blasting out of my car with the windows down on a sunny day.

yeah, haha

but really, fuck people

what about those fags with beats or whatever blasting, at leats we can sing abou dragons! haha

Blind Guardian is amazing, and one of the leading metal bands at the moment. RP, do have their new Live cd? If you don't, go to theendrecords.com and buy it now. It is $26, but the 2 cds are worth that and much much more. It is the best live cd ever created. And if anyone doesn't think that A Night at the Opera is metal, then they need to listen to the songs from that cd live. Shredding guitar, screaming vocals, moshing fans singing along to every lyric, blasting drums, grooving yet bottom heavy bass work, well, that sounds like Metal to me. Oh, and did I forget to mention that Blind Guardian kick your ass?!
N/P: Madder Mortem-Deadlands (I looovvveee this cd!!)
