Nah. Symphony X is basically Dream Theater lite with a more obnoxious vocalist and Dragonforce-esque lyrics and themes and an inflated ego. Dragonforce are funny, campy, and amusing, and above all, damn fun to listen to. Symphony X fall a little bit short of being goofy and end up squarely in the "gay" slot.

Oh my...oh my god...Im having a stroke!!! I cannot swallow this. Dragonforce are the metal equivilent of the MTV music awards. Predictable. Dragonforce couldn't write a song to save this god forsaken earth from global warming. Atleast symphony X has some variety. Not just.... intro, solo, chrous, solo, chorus, solo, chorus, solo outro. Next song.....intro, solo, chorus, solo, chorus, solo, chorus, solo, outro.

I've heard brutal death bands with more originality.

fairy ridiculous? I think you got it wrong there. Power metal is a fairly ridiculous genre, with it quirks and gems. Metal itself is much much more.

Grindcore has probably the highest crappy band percent ratio of any genre. Now don't get my wrong, I love grindcore but there are so many extremely shitty bands plaguing the genre.

I highly doubt lots of these bands will become 'classics' as they are far too unknown, I could however imagine a band such as Lamb of God becoming almost equivalent to what Anthrax/Slayer/Pantera etc are now.
