new CD's!!!! anyone else???

Ayreon - 01011001 Didn't care for it a whole lot the first couple times through, but the last few listens it has started to grow on me and I'm liking it a lot more.

Testament - Demonic (2008 reissue). Since I never bought the original version.

Pre-ordered Brainstorm - Downburst, and I have an Amon Amarth cd on backorder, both with The End.

Please report back on the Brainstorm.
I always liked them, but was very let down with their last one.

I almost wish their vocalist would just choose between Symphorce and BS.

I think he would have one strong band, instead of being in two mediocre B-level bands (Though that's just my opinion)

Two tracks from the new Brainstorm are streaming here: www.myspace.com/mbpreview

I love Liquid Monster, so I don't think I'll be disappointed with the new one. Just read an interview recently and Andy said he loves having both bands - Brainstorm fans know what to expect from them, so Symphorce is his creative outlet.

Just received the new Rob Rock - Garden of Chaos.

If it wasn't for the new Ayreon discs, this would be receiving a lot of playing time. I'm a big fan of Rob's and the new disc seems to be a little heavier than the last one. Really good stuff.

got back from Haven....picked up these.

- Gamma Ray - Land of the Free Part 2

- Avantasia - The Scarecrow

- Pagan Fire -Various Artist - basically a CD / DVD for 15 bucks that has videos and songs from all sorts of folk / pagan bands like Korpiklanni, Ensiferum, Tyr, Bathory, Equilibrum, Helhiem , and many more.

- Doomsword - Resound the Horn.

- ShadowSide - Theatre of Shadows - great brazilian power metal. The female singer, nothing like the Nightwish or Arch Enemy sound but a singer with so much power.

next week....new Shaman and Alestorm

Let me know how the Avantasia CD is. I'm hearing lots of differing opinions, the little I've heard it hasn't been bad - just different from the Edguy stuff.

Is the Alestorm getting a domestic release or does Haven have imports also? I'm really interested in picking that CD up.

The Avantasia disc is decent. Not like the first two. Those had very catchy anthem type songs on it. This disc is more mature I guess. The songs are good but almost seems like Toby is doing too much writing and everything is not as good as it once was.

The Alestorm is the domestic release....finally. I am excited about this disc. Napalm Records has some great stuff coming out...like the Helhiem disc!!!!
