NFL 2009

I don't think I've ever seen the Bears look so inept. Severe line play issues. They really miss Urlacher, as evidenced by the repeated failure to defend the same pass play to the center of the field at least ten times. Some terrible coaching decisions too. A defensive timeout to stop that onslaught would have maybe helped at some point in the first half there. I guess I can be slightly consoled that all the Bears losses came in tough road games to this point. They need this Cleveland game this week to get well in a hurry.

Palmer looked really, really good though. His passes were on the receiver's hands almost every time. I'm sure it helped that there wasn't a hand on him the entire day. The Bengals line play was strong and Palmer is back to form, so that team should win some more games.

Too bad he only got 69 yards and under 4 yards a carry. Most of his yards came in the fourth quarter against the Steelers' patented retarded prevent defense too. They did a great job containing Peterson.

I have to be thankful that the Steelers have a bye week though, because they suffered some key injuries. Both Kirschke and Timmons left the game with lower leg problems, and obviously Polamalu is still not 100%. Ryan Clark probably won't play in Denver the following week because of his sickle cell trait that is flared up by high altitudes, so they need all of the starting bodies they can get on the field as it is, and Kirschke is already a back-up. If he's out for an extended period of time, they'll need to sign somebody, I would think. They only have Nick Eason and Ziggy Hood behind him, unless Hoke can play some DE. They could use some special teamers too.

The Packers limited Peterson to 55 yards when they played them. He can be stopped, the key to beating the Vikings is getting pressure on Favre, and hoping he makes a catastrophic error.

Mike Wallace leads rookies in receiving yards with 2 touchdowns, 8 plays of 20+ yards, 3 of 40+, and yet nobody talks about him. I think he should be in the running for offensive rookie of the year, yet I rarely even hear his name mentioned.

Look everyone, a worthless post by Ozzman. Such an event only occurs 17.91 times a day.

If I was the rest of the NFC East I would be very worried about Dallas right now. Weak schedule coming up outside of Eagles and Packers, but both winnable games as the Boys are playing good football.
