NFL 2009

And that is what happens when you protect your fucking QB. 4th win in a row.

Great passing attack, decent run game, solid defense.

And this was a record breaking game, 23 penalties called breaking the previous record of 22.

22
Brooklyn vs. Green Bay, Sept. 17, 1944
Chi. Bears vs. Philadelphia, Nov. 26, 1944
San Francisco vs. Buffalo, Oct. 4, 1998

That mess needs to be fixed or else the Packers won't make as deep a playoff run as they're capable of.

I honestly thought he was a bit of a reach for the team as a first rounder, and figured that they gave up a good bit too much for him but he is turning out to be very solid.

Him and Cushing have been very good so far this year, both being good DRotY candidates.

Maualuga is kind of doing okay for the Bengals right?

That quite possibly was the worst officiated game I have ever seen. They even fucked up the clock and took six seconds away from the Ravens. It was absurd.

But yeah, a good game for the Packers and the offensive line. No running game, but everything else worked pretty well. I'm thinking this team could be 11-5 or maybe 12-4 if the continue to play well.

And Matthews is the best linebacker on the team right now.

So, how stupid is it moving the Pro Bowl to the week before the Superbowl? I understand that the Pro Bowl is anti-climactic if seen as the end of the NFL season, but who really sees the PB as the end of the season? To me the Superbowl is the end of the season. The Pro Bowl is just a little low pressure, fun, exhibition game played after most of the tension has gone out of the season, teams and players. It is what it is.

I bet having the PB before the SB will be more exciting and add even more anticipation for the SB, but surely the potential for injury to players from the respective conference champions outweigh those benefits.

It seems to me to be based purely on the NFL wanting more money.

I aggre with you on this...if a player from a team who is playing in the super bowl gets injured it outweigh its benefits.
The NFL has been making some bad things lately.

But that's weird, because obviously there are good players on the two teams that go to the Superbowl. So, again obviously, some of those players will be voted in to the Pro Bowl. Are you telling me these players will have to miss playing in a game which basically honors the best in the NFL? That is stupid. Yeah, so they can still be honored by their inclusion, and they can probably still attend, but to not be allowed to play seems dumb. Dumb dumb dumb.

^
Agreed.
The players would have to attend or you'd have a bunch of players missing...what would be the point of even having the PB? I think the PB is a joke either way and the worst of all the allstar games. And could you imagine a teams star player 2-weeks before heading to the SB...blowing a knee out in that stupid celebrity beach tag FB game ? The NHL is close behind the NFL...in these not coming close to truly representing thier own game. Not that any allstar game really does this at all?

Well the MLB has the homefield thing gonna on and the NBA just has a fun game.

@ TB. Yep, MLB atleast has some incentive...and the NBA allstar game is just a continuation of the 3-pt and slamdunk contests that are held prior. I think MLB fails the most as far as players who should really be there. The voting is mostly a popularity contest. FB isn't far behind...if a line-man makes it early in his career he somehow becomes a lifer?

@ ACH. I as well don't see it as practical holding it beforehand? Why not hold it right in the middle of the season, just like the other sports do? Shut the NFL down for 2-weeks...kinda like every teams psuedo bye-week? I'm not even sure if this is practical either, just throw'n it out there? On another note, the other pro leagues at times also have the olympics, world classics, etc...this doesn't help thier injury problems either?

edit: I suppose the NFL waits til the end of the season, obviously needed to have the full season sample to vote in thier players? duh! Either that, or they could hold it in the middle of the season as I mentioned earlier...and just vote players in by combining thier 1st half seasons (8-game) performance combined with the previous seasons 2nd half performance (8 games)?

They consider years past as well as present in selection of the Pro Bowl.

Either way, the Pro Bowl is a waste of time and much too high risk.

Instead of the Pro Bowl they should put the referees on an all NFL Jeopardy show. that would get some ratings.
