NFL 2009

The Super Bowl hangover is a bitch. It's not like we shouldn't have seen this coming. The season following their 2005 Super Bowl the Steelers went 8-8. Oh well.

Go Colts!

There's far less of an excuse this time though. Last time, Roethlisberger was still only going into his third season, had just been in a life threatening motorcycle accident, and also had his gall bladder erupt or something like that. Jerome Bettis also left, among others during free agency. This year, I had very high hopes for the possibility of repeating, but with Polamalu missing most of the season, as well as Aaron Smith going on IR and William Gay proving that he doesn't deserve to be a starter, the defense is nothing like they have been in recent years. The offense has their issues as well, but the defense has blown 4th quarter leads in 5 of their losses, not including the THREE 4th quarter leads they had against the Raiders. I do have high hopes once again for next year, though. Polamalu and Smith will be back, Mike Wallace will be better incorporated into the offense, and the offensive line will continue to gel as a cohesive unit as Mendenhall becomes more comfortable running the ball. They really looked like they had already given up during most of the Raiders game, and even more so for this last game, so at this point they just need to look toward next year. They'll have a higher draft pick this time, so that's good. If they can find/draft some defensive replacements for CB/S/NT, I think they can make another deep run next season.

As for all of the constant childish comments, grow up already.

I felt the same way during the 2007 season with the Colts. They were plagued with injuries to players like Harrison, Freeney, Brackett, the o-line, Addai, among others. Although, they finished the season 13-3.

Willam Gay and the safety Carter are both playing really bad. esp Carter, he just seems to over run everything.

Losing Aaron Smith effected them way more than I thought it would.

Speaking of teams on the down fall, do you guys think the Cowboys are going to lose 4 in a row?

After losing to the Giants they have the Chargers,Saints and Eagles lol Whoever made the schedule had a sense of humor.

The schedule is made arbitrarily, or at least the teams they would play was arbitrary. This year NFC East is playing AFC West and the NFC South, plus obviously their own division rivals x2. Seattle and Green Bay are the only teams someone specifically decided that the Cowboys would play.

Go Chargers!!

Instead of the Pro Bowl they should put the referees on an all NFL Jeopardy show. that would get some ratings.

Yah. "I'll take player nicknames and the crimes they committed for 200$ Alex"!?!:D

The Super Bowl hangover is a bitch.

Yeah, I hear ya! Had a bitch of a time getting up for work after celebrating those 3-Pats SB wins! Oh...you meant...:D

As far as the Steelers, even with thier issues and ??'s ...ya can't be losing to the Raiders and Browns WHEN PLAYING FOR YOUR PLAYOFF LIVES! I say this with almost as much emphasis and discouragement towards my Pats blowing late leads and not showing that killer instinct!
