There's far less of an excuse this time though. Last time, Roethlisberger was still only going into his third season, had just been in a life threatening motorcycle accident, and also had his gall bladder erupt or something like that. Jerome Bettis also left, among others during free agency. This year, I had very high hopes for the possibility of repeating, but with Polamalu missing most of the season, as well as Aaron Smith going on IR and William Gay proving that he doesn't deserve to be a starter, the defense is nothing like they have been in recent years. The offense has their issues as well, but the defense has blown 4th quarter leads in 5 of their losses, not including the THREE 4th quarter leads they had against the Raiders. I do have high hopes once again for next year, though. Polamalu and Smith will be back, Mike Wallace will be better incorporated into the offense, and the offensive line will continue to gel as a cohesive unit as Mendenhall becomes more comfortable running the ball. They really looked like they had already given up during most of the Raiders game, and even more so for this last game, so at this point they just need to look toward next year. They'll have a higher draft pick this time, so that's good. If they can find/draft some defensive replacements for CB/S/NT, I think they can make another deep run next season.
As for all of the constant childish comments, grow up already.
