NFL 2009

There were some questionable possibly game changing no calls, but overall I can't really blame the refs for the Arizona game. That was the awful defensive play calling on the final drive that lost them the game.

Only thing that I think they MAJORLY fucked up on was Kurt Warner's "fumble."

I all but stopped watching basketball after the Tim Donaghy stuff came out years ago. I always had this bad feeling that there was some foul play going on. But then I read Donaghy's book and I wanted to go on a killing spree. I haven't watched a single game of basketball since then, and probably won't ever again. Basketball is forever tainted.

Baseball is nearly there.

Why do you think you will stop watching Baseball?

The majority of their penalties are on the offensive line and are legit. And I do not think that the refs have it out for any time. I just think they are absolutely god-awful and influence the outcome of the game much more often than any other sport.

Come on. You saw the calls made in that game. You must've seen how ridiculous they were.

Actually I didn't get the game, but I did just watch the replay on NFL network. I'll look through the calls you claimed were bad and see what the replay caught.

Ok, the Packers are playing rather poorly, but I think the bigger story is the absolutely atrocious calls being made by the refs. I took notes on all poor calls/no-calls and I have concluded that the Packers might not be able to overcome the hometown referees.

Here is the list in order:

(1) - Pass interference call on Woodson which leads to a TD.
(2) - Reversal of the fumble and recovery call by Matthews, booth review stated that his arm was moving forward. Bullshit. Both announcers were stunned by the call. I really don't understand how you can make that call.
(3) - No personal foul call on Harrison for a late hit on Rodgers or the helmet to helmet on Rodgers. Harrison hit him late and held him there while the officials watched.
(4) - Hines Ward, the dirtiest player in the league by player vote, hit A.J Hawk in the back, but no block in the back penalty was called. The announcers both commented on how "he got away with one".

The score should be 14-14 right now without the penalty that led to a score. The Packers also have dropped a ton of balls.

1, 3, and 4 were not on the replay, so I can't comment on those. That fumble was a fumble though. The announcers were not "stunned" by the call either. The 2 that you mentioned, are you sure it wasn't Timmons? Timmons did get one hit that bordered on the grey line between foul and no foul, but there was a ref looking and didn't call, so whatever. I did see a few no calls of Harrison being held (as always) and some penalties that could have been called on Woodson as well, but I'm not going to bitch about it at this point.

Speaking of this, today at school I saw shirts of the Yanks,Cowboys and the Lakers:erk:I also saw both Houston Astros and a Dallas Mavericks shirt too which was very surprising .

Sooooooo...today, at your school it was "I'm a ball-suckin, ass-lickin, loser fanboy shirt-day"!?!

It sure looks like it.No wonder thoses 3 teams are the most bandwagon fans. Our Boston sports teams have lots of them but not as bad as teams like the Yankees,Lakers, and Cowboys.

I was blowin a hint of sarcasm. Wether we like it or not... those rival teams obviously have great-great success / tradition.

Thankfully, our Boston teams have enough success / tradition as well. I'm especially proud of RedSox Nation! Even the biggest Boston haters would have to enjoy the experience and excitement of attending a RedSox game at Fenway...its a playoff vibe there from April to October. Sure there are the share of yahoos and such and I can't stand any RedSox fan that shamefully wears a "Yankees suck" t-shirt...thankfully this stuff has somewhat subsided. RedSox Nation is now strong worldwide and the loyal fans travel and support like no other fans.:kickass:

Whoah...I forgot this is the NFL thread. So, @ TB...the Patriots are considered cheaters and yet you've been spoiled by thier latest success. For a long time the Pats were the laughin-stock of the NFL and have had many miserable / horrible moments..as have all our other teams. This from me, as being the elder B-town fan and one who is maybe educating you?:D;);)

Even though I don't like the teams I said they do have a great history for sure.Anyone who thinks the Yankees are the worst team in history are blind.I mean they have won 26 world series the most in any pro sport team.I too can't stand our fans wearing Yankees suck t-shirts but you don't see them as often as you used to before they won it in 04.I am pround to be part of Red Sox Nation too:kickass:!I have been a fan of the Sox since I went to my first ballgame in 03.Teams like the Lions and Pirates don't seem like they have fans these days:p.

I know they weren't a good team before they were a dynasty.
They were going to move to St Louis at one point because there team was very bad and so was the attendance.I know our teans weren't always good chamionship teams.Patriots started to be a hated team once the spygate thing happen.
