NFL 2009

Fitzgerald steamrolling Woodson made me laugh. He sure as hell wont make you fumble if you do that to him before you catch the ball.

Offensive pass interference much?

There were some not-so-good calls in the last game (roughing the passer [facemask] should have been neutralized by offensive pass interference on Fitzgerald's second TD), but Green Bay was holding on just about every single pass play, so....

OT rules should be changed to give each offense a chance, but in this case GB had a chance, so I can't see how this instance would make one complain about OT. If anything, today's result supports the current rule. Just because a game is a shootout doesn't mean that the first team with the ball will win.

Yeah, I thought for sure Rodgers was going to win it there. But, all in all great game, and now the front office knows where their needs are in the draft. It didn't help that three of their impact corners were hurt.

Officiating is an imperfect art. They have improved it, but it is what it is. It's part of the game. From what I heard, the ref who was closest did exactly what he should have done, which is keep his eye on the ball itself, once it came loose.

Yeah, but it was a clear facemask. If they really cared they would make a lot of adjustments/improvements to the system.

No shit.

The refs are human. To err is human... so... deal with it?

Also, I wish not to watch a game that is under instant replay review every fucking play.

Hey dude, stop making excuses.

Where the hell was your "top rated" defense/secondary!?

Warner made you guys look like shit,plain-and-simple.

As I see it AZ played better and are a better team to watch, quit bitching about the past, even if that was called isnt it just a personal foul and will take 15 yards on the next play since they scored a touchdown? regardless they didn't play better than AZ

That facemask was directly responsible for the ball being intercepted (it wasn't a fumble - tuck rule.) Because of the facemask he was pulled down causing him to have no real way to react and as a result ended up kicking the ball up leading to the INT.

Had the facemask never happened it would've been an incomplete pass

Not that either team deserved to win - because defense just straight up did not exist in that game, and how the fuck you give up a 24 point lead is completely beyond me.

No doubt that Arizona tore Green Bay's defense up, but didn't Rodgers do the same thing to Arizona? Even fucking Dansby said that they had help from the officials. All I want to see is a fair game. If they had called the game fairly and accurately I suspect the outcome would've been different (not necessarily a GB victory)

Krow: um, no? I'm not wanting all calls to be challengeable, just better. And yes, obviously the refs are human. But we're talking about professional sports here. Perfection is expected from the athletes, so why not expect it from the officials? This sport would be perfect if the referees did not take the game into their own hands. I also think game-changing calls should be reviewable. Note: I said some, not all.

Yes, it is? Receivers who drop a lot of passes or run poor routes don't make it in the NFL. Referees are given way to much leeway.

The thing about Edwards is he cannot make simple catches, but throw the ball where he can only catch it with one hand or some crazy circus grab and he'll get it every time.

My divisional round playoff predictions:

Saints win. Close game, but ultimately a full strength Saints defense will give them the edge they need to win.
Ravens will grind out a win against the Colts.
Vikings will survive despite a multipick game from Favre.
Jets will grind out a win against the Chargers.

You expect the afc's top seeds to lose but the nfc's to win.... nah.

The only top seed I see going down would be the Vikings.

Yeah, the Jets are going to win this I just have a gut feeling. They match up fairly well against high powered offensive teams.

They shut down the Saints passing game, the Patriots passing game, the Texans passing game, and really the only high powered passing game they didn't stop was the Colts, but who knows how that game would've ended had the starters not been pulled.

And huh, out of all those the only one the Jets didn't win was against the Saints.

The Colts might win, but with the absolute ass kicking the Ravens gave the Patriots, they just have more momentum going into the game after the Colts rested their starters for 2 weeks.

I can't see the Jets winning that game, but I was absolutely sure the Packers would beat Arizona so what do I know

I'm predicting no upsets this weekend; Vikings, Saints, Chargers, and Colts all win. I wouldn't be completely surprised if one of the lower seeds pulled off a win, though.

I think the Vikings-Cowboys game will really come down to the fact that we have home field advantage. We're excellent at home but nowhere near as good on the road, which is why I'm rooting for Arizona to beat New Orleans.
