NFL 2014

Dallas' defense actually isn't really doing much better in terms of yards. But they aren't allowing points, and they are massively improved on 3rd down. That is the difference.

The dal/hou game was great. I live in houston, so theres a big rivalry here. If you dont live in texas you wouldnt understand.

The dallas fans are talking a lot of shit right now, which is cool. However, its hardly surprising that dallas won. The texans were last years worst team, now lead by ryan fitzpatrick, and a coach with zero confidence in his qb. Not to mention dallas was at home and won by a field goal...in overtime. That says as much about dallas as it does houston.

Everyone points to watt these days, but one defensive lineman does not a good team make. Frankly, im tired of the guy. Its nigh impossible to escape his presence in houston from commercials to billboards to interviews. Mega watt overkill.

Anyway. Very good game

Dallas had 2 red zone turnovers, a dropped wide open TD that instead became a FG, Mr Automatic missed a FG, and still managed to win. Yeah, it says as much about Dallas as it does about Houston.

Both QBs had no time to throw and their WRs were horrible. The Jets D played horrible. They threw Vick in when the game was already completely out of control.

exactly, it says houston still sucks. all that and we still cant win.

As an aside, I am sorry for your lot living in Houston. My wife is from the College Station area so I have had the misfortune of traveling through Houston a couple of times. The beltline looks like construction on it started 30 years ago and at some point they gave up and just left it as is.

On the Texans: They were not as bad as their record suggests, any moreso than Dallas was as bad as when they were dropping straight games at the end of the Wade Phillips era, or the Colts just before Luck, etc. The players just threw in the towel on the season.

edit: Laughed so hard at this, didn't see it until now. Pretty much sums up the game other than Romo's houdini act:

i live north of houston in The Woodlands in a nice area. unfortunately exxon hq is moving right down the freeway causing major traffic issues.

however i do work in houston. it sucks. the metro traffic is among the worst in the nation with never ending construction. my sister lives right in the middle of the city and i question her sanity regularly.

if the texans want to win, they need a quality qb. its that simple. fitzpatrick aint the guy. i say give mallett a chance. cant get worse.

Steelers managed to scrape off a win today against a lousy team but a win is a win at this point. The next couple games are obviously wins they need but ones they can get as long as they don't completely implode.

The Bears just stink. The special teams are an unmitigated disaster unlike anything I've ever seen from this franchise. I'm kind of hoping this is a lost season like the Falcons and Texans had last year. Briggs is washed up, Tillman is done, Jared Allen has even less in the tank than Peppers did last year. They need a good draft to reload. They haven't had a top 10 pick since Urlacher, and since this team is no threat to win anything, it's time to root for losses. There are so many awful teams that it will probably take a few more significant injuries to really get up there with the Jacksonvilles and Oaklands though.

I think watching Jay Cutler lose is one my favorite things to do. He's such a little bitch. Hilarious.

the issue is the jets GM stinks.

I can believe that. I think Rex overachieves with the shit the front office gives him to work with.

Remember a couple years ago talking about this undrafted Olineman Jerrah was all high on? Apparently he was targeted by Watt early on and shut him down to the point where Watt was rotated away most of the rest of the game. Everyone forgets about Mr. Leary playing amongst the rollercoaster that is Free, and the 3 1st rounders.

The issue is the owner; hiring a GM and forcing a coach on him. The GM wants to hire his own coach and gave Rex Ryan nothing to play with. The Jets are 20 million under the cap, it's so transparent it's ridiculous.

i agree partly with this. the draft picks have been garbage too though. last years draft, the first by this new GM, only gave 1 player worth anything so far in sheldon richardson. dee milliner has been injured. tommy bohanon was ok. geno smith is well...the rest are terrible or already gone. this year the GM had 12 draft picks and only calvin pryor and jace amaro are playing in games. thats not good.
