NFL week 1

At this point, I'm just waiting on the puck to drop...unfortunately, opening night for hockey is on Friday during ProgPower (and the Thrashers play the Lightning on Saturday during ProgPower). I don't know if you're a hockey fan, but there's a good article on NHL.com about the Lightning:

Looks like the division is all yours, and we'll be fighting for that 8th playoff spot

I love hockey, but I wasn't able to renew my season tickets this year, so I'll be watching most of the Bolts games at home. Not sure what to make of the Lightning this year...could be good if the goaltending is strong, but not holding my breath.

I was at opening day drinking lemonade (absolut citron and lemonade) along with some Leinienkugel's at 730 in front of K-Mart getting it done right. (That is directly across the street from Lambeau and is where everyone tailgates for those that dont know)

Overall not too bad of a game both offenses werent the best, but at least America's Team won in God's Country!!!!

ps Please dont try to debate me on this whole Cowboys being America's team, Packers have won more Super Bowl/NFL Championships than the Cowboys, so they win.

pss yes Wisconsin is God's country, there is no finer land imo except the motherland, Deutscheland.

psss Anyone that is a Packer fan wants to come to KC for the game this year let me know. I can probably find a ticket and you can sleep on my couch for sure!

Well, what can I say. It's gonna be a long winter for my Fish in Miami. Still they can't find the way to get that OL in good shape. Saying is a "work in progress", oh, heard that one so many times I'm starting to feel sick about it. Good running backs , good QB, good defense (even both Redskins and Dolphins played really erratic offense). But the offensive line and receivers (the most amazingly stupid dropped passes I've seen in years), not to count the stupid penalties, killed them.

On a Packer note, a team which I enjoy watching lately, BRETT FAVRE rules!!! You can say he's old, or whatever you want, but never underestimate his guts and his football IQ. They're on the right track...:headbang:

So 1 beer doesn't equal a pitcher???? heheheeee
We are on Rich!!! bet is due on thursday night at the pre-party :kickass:

Edit: I just realized that smiley looks like its flipping someone off while waving. Rest assured, it is not. :)

The Raiders got jobbed by Shanahan. They won the game, the way I see it.

Was it lame? Yep. Was it within the rules? Unfortunately, yep. Should the rule be changed so coaches can't do that? IMO, yep.

I agree it was lame and the Raiders deserved to win, but you can't fault a coach for playing within the rules. If he hadn't called timeout at the last second the ref wouldn't have awarded them one, and that's what happened.

Dophins lost badly... again. But let me say, cheers to Trent Green, he's the quarterback with the most recievers available. He even had like four from the other team catching the ball for him:mad:

Bears looked ok in a win that should have been a blowout. I'd guess around week 4 or 5 they will have a firm hold on the NFC Central.

Additionally, its shocking that any coach(granted Herm Edwards is a joke) would allow their kicker/punter to let Devin Hester touch the ball.

Is it too early for the 'Aints nickname to resurface? Damn, either someone put something in the Bucs gatorade or the Saints really do suck.

You mean the timeout right before the kick? Happens every week in every level of football...trying to freeze the kicker. IMO, nothing wrong or cheap about it - it's part of the game. As for the rule being changed, its the same on every play - as long as you call the timeout before the ball is snapped, its good.

Man, the Fins are probably the most depressing team in the league.. The other bad teams are at least YOUNG.. we are a horrible, old team... :( I have a feeling it's going to be a while until we are good team again.. Nick SATAN and Dave Wanstedt (or however you spell it) killed the dolphins.. Our draft picks in the past few years have been a total joke... and the amount of picks we gave away on horrible trades is depressing.. :(
