I didn't realise Fellowship had released a new single.
You can tell from the first 27 seconds that they're going in a bit of a different direction with this one. I was instantly hooked, but it appeals to my tastes of power metal with a sugar overload. They seem to have scaled back from the epic, traditional PM of the first album and gone in a slightly more pop-metal direction. The classic Fellowship elements from the first album are still there, but it's definitely different. Still maintaining that upbeat, high energy vibe that I always appreciate though. Matt Corry is also an absolutely incredible singer and his voice is just awesome. The chorus is a huge earworm, feels like they've been studying some Beast in Black. Sick guitar work at the 3/4 point as well, as you'd expect from Fellowship.
Anyway, yeah, I love it. My personal hype level for their new album pretty much shot through the roof after hearing this. Fortunately November 22nd isn't too far away. I rarely get excited for new releases from bands whose album(s) I've loved previously, as I'm been disappointed too often in the past, but I don't think these lads are going to let me down.
