What I found interesting is that you guys listed the new Satyricon "Volcano" so high up there. I mean I love Satyricon, but #2? Volano was no where near as good as Nemesis, and it got bland after the 4th track. It's still a good album, but #2?! Sons of the Northern Darkness was a far better black metal album than Volcano was. Amon Amarth's "Vs The World" I think would make a worthy #2. For arguments sake, my top 5...

Well, I just fuckin love the new Satyricon, I guess.. Porcupine Tree I did not include in my list because it was a metal list.. But it was one of my favorite cds this year.

And I found the latest Immortal to be a little too overhyped.. They haven't lived up to At the Heart Of Winter yet in my opinion.

It's about the principle of water and how it's nature is to go around a stationary object but when it is required to apply some force there is nothing better.

And for the record, this really has all been very silly. ProgMetalFan, for once you were correct. I should never have insulted the entire forum for one person's misinformed (and idiotic opinion). It's just that all too often, prog metal fans - we've had this discussion before - tend to belittle and bash EVERY band that they personally don't feel are up to snuff. You know what I mean?

And last item, @Pseudonym: I also loved Satyricon's new one, and it was just f*cking superb to me for a great many reasons, not the least of which was how it managed to be old and modern at the same time. I also loved Immortal's new one, but it just wasn't as captivating to me as Satyricon. That of course, could change within the year (but I don't think it will). And I simply didn't count Amon Amarth because it wasn't available to more than a handful of people (myself included) until just a few days ago. Oh well. Cheers.

I love the Odyssey, it's not my fault you're too damn lazy to cliclk on your mouse 3-4 times to see my Top 25 list. I don't feel the need to post it everywhere. I was simply stating that I really enjoyed the new Symphony X, like I have all of their other releases. Sorry I dropped in to pay one of my favorite bands respect. It's pretty sad when one can't talk about Symphony X on their own forum. Guess I will have to stick to the other forums as some of you in here are just pompous asses. I never complained about this thread being started in fact I was hoping to get some new ideas from it so I think that maybe you need to pay better attention to what you read. I did say who really cares and that this thread could be flushed but that wasn't a complaint by any means! Eh, to be fair, it was a tad arrogant for the guy to say "Symphony X scored #3 on my top 25." I think thats the problem, since I can see where some people are coming from: you could interpret that as "SyX wasnt good enough to be #1." Im not saying he didnt express that he likes SyX, Im just saying it could have resulted in less flaming if he just said "The Odyssey kicks ass" or something like that. I dunno, just trying to offer another opinion...a 2nd of which is that the arguing in this thread is just silly and just aids in making this forum more like the kind of stuff you see on "that other progmetal bands" disscussion boards.

You say "enough" then you say it's ok "to have differing opinions, & to debate them". Please point out where any we made a mistake with our debate today? There wasn't any cussing each other out and if Ultimate_Symphony's "insulted or called me any names" they were done with respect.

I was referring to the continuing BS back & forth after I requested that ya'll play nice. I didn't mention any names, and until I do, odds are I'm speaking to the group as a whole, not singling you or anyone else out.
