Opeth + Devin Townsend ?

I just read an interview of Devin Townsend in a French metal magazine... And he says that he really would like work with ....OPETH !! Not as a producer (as Steven Wilson has done..) ,but in a musical project ,as a real musician...
Could you guys imagine that?
I just hope that Mikael Akerfeldt will read this very soon !!

It would be interesting to say tthe least..HMMM A Devin Townsend Opeth project..D. Townsend's production is different from Steven Wilson's, much more of a wall of sound than Wilson's..
I don't think that Devin would fit with Opeth's more atmospheric, mellow tunes..
Just don't see how the two very different styles would fit..

yes it would. I love that my three favorite artists (Steven Wilson, Mikael Akerfeldt, and Devin Townsend) are all showing interest in each other. A collaboration between the three encompassing all their diverse styles would be amazing.

?! What is this? I never heard anything about it...I don't really follow devin townsend news too closely though.

I can sum up my feelings on this scenario with this simple equation:

Devin Townsend + Mikael Akerfeldt in some kind of one/off sideproject = Hoser jizzes all over his monitor.

And throwing Steven Wilson in there certainly wouldn't hurt matters any, either. Fuck, why don't we just tack Dan Swano along so that all of my favourite makers of music currently alive are all in one place at one time?

THAT would be interesting to see.
