Opeth + Devin Townsend ?

yes it would. I love that my three favorite artists (Steven Wilson, Mikael Akerfeldt, and Devin Townsend) are all showing interest in each other. A collaboration between the three encompassing all their diverse styles would be amazing.

Wrong:

"I just wondered if you're familiar with Devin Townsends projects such as Strapping Young Lad,Ocean Machine and Terria? I love his work and I think he's a great musician.

Secondly,I'd like to know if you've checked out the technical hardcore band called Dillinger Escape Plan? They're very extreme, using a lot of difficult time signatures. You should check out their album Calculating Infinity which is simply brilliant."

answer from SW

"Hi,

Yeah, DEP are awesome. And I note that your user name here is named after a song by another band in a not dissimilar vein, right? I like that band a lot also.

I was sent a Devin Townsend album recently - Terria I think (the most recent?). It was OK.

To be honest, I enjoy some Devin Townsend but nothing exceptionnal to me...

I think it'd be awesome as a side project. Especially because I can't fathom what it would sound like. But yeah, not on an Opeth or Devy album.

I just read an interview of Devin Townsend in a French metal magazine... And he says that he really would like work with ....OPETH !! Not as a producer (as Steven Wilson has done..) ,but in a musical project ,as a real musician...
Could you guys imagine that?:loco:
I just hope that Mikael Akerfeldt will read this very soon !!

I would love to see this happen.. Two of my favorites working together.

you guys are fucking idiots.

devin is a musician. he doesnt have to stick to one thing. just because his band does one thing, doesnt mean thats all he CAN do. he CAN do whatever he wants. he is extremely talented and im sure he would sound great with opeth
