Other music you guys like?

punk (except these political correct & pop punk bands)
funk
synth pop

sometimes even a little jazz & western

Bad Religion, although mind-numbingly simple, is still one of my favorite bands today... Their new album is fucking sweet despite their last two albums which could suck donkey balls for all I care.

Does anyone know of any intensely melodic/complicated electronic music that doesn't have any vocals? or metal band that is melodic/complicated w/o vocals? I'm sure some of you can name off at least 100!

As far as hXc goes... Shai Hulud is pretty fucking sweet... check out the song "hardly" and "if born from this soil" and "my heart bleeds the darkest blood" those songs can get me to bust a move. However, I just see the hXc community as a bunch of children with limited musical talent and limitless ego problems... the whole sXe/EMO/weird ass part of that scene just makes the music look silly... there is no depth or art to it, in my opinion... which, of course, is just my opinion... but, even the arty hXc bands still strive to be the most hXc instead of worrying about the music, they worry about the image... I think that's how I got into metal in the first place...

It started w/ Bad Religion... and then the "punk" years... and then Sick of it All introduced me to hardcore and then In Flames introduced me to modern metal... and one day it clicked that the Iron Maiden records that my older brother used to blast when I was a toddler had rooted themselves into my brain...

METAL FOREVER!!! (besides bad religion) ;)

P.S. for all you P.C. people... check out Propagandhi's newest album "Today's Empire's, Tomorrow's Ashes" its a 3-piece band... and they're fucking AMAZING live. I highly recommend this album for a change of pace.

Punk's too simple. Most punk bands sound the same, playing the same chord scheme over and over again. Come on, put some variety in it.

Apart from metal (gotta love that distortion! :headbang: ) I listen to everything I can get my hands on, mostly Dead Can Dance, 80s, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, genuine folk, Toto ( :D ), you name it.

Come on and dance with me

Even though you guys are all into metal and shit, what do you guys think of punk music? Are there any punk bands you guys like? How about other types of music you are into?

No, I listen to almost only metal.

I'm very much into Nik Kershaw at the moment. Especially his latest, and sadly last, as a solo artist "To Be Frank"

I listen to music I like, doesn't matter where it's from or what it's called :)

seriously I listen to nearly all kinds of music which base on guitar-work, except of some Industrial or ambientsound like Mortiis. But I still prefere Metal.

anyway, punk have gave us many inspiration in our metal muzik.....like examples, the great slayer has combine the metal sound with some punk elemen and this is the birth of THRASH METAL..........sometimes,we have to respct some other kind of music......so we able to learn how we can improved our metal music.....

I can´t tell you what kind of music I usually listeng.. I just give you a tiny list of few (Non-Metal) bands I listeng:

Depeche Mode
Rage Against The Machine
Rammstein (It IS NOT metal!)
The Offspring (very very VERY rarely..)
Aphex Twin
Prodigy

LOT´S OF TEKNO!
Nu-Metal and that kind of bands...

So I listeng very VERY.... weird bands.. Or so is my friend telling me. (None of my friends likes Depeche Mode.. :D :D )

AngelWitch73-I like some Hardcore / Punk style bands (BOUND FOR GLORY, BRUTAL ATTACK) as well as other stuff like THE CRANBERRIES, SOUNDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS... etc...

-I don´t know if you know this or not but bands you mentioned/ Bound For Glory and Brutal Attack/ strongly belong to
National Socialist movement. They´re ultra right-wing & they´re ultra racist a homophobic. BFG and BA are one of the strongest headliners of Nazi movement. /For further info check out ultra right wing magazine called Resistance, I´m shure you´ll find and interview with one of these bands/
Maybe you can´t understand their lyrics but if yes, I´m scared of what person you are. And PLEASE don´t call them hardcore/punk.
They´re everything but this.

beside this I like to listen to:
hard core & dirty punk´n´roll bands like Backyard Babies or Hellacopters.
Pop-Savage Garden, Cranberries, Old Roxette, Bon Jovi.

I am glad you can judge the sort of person I am based on some of the music I listen to. That is quite a talent you have. Congrats.

There are many bands in my collection that sing of things I don´t agree with but since I listen to them based on the music they release and not their personal beliefs or messages it has no affect on me. I am able to make my own thoughts and regardless what a band says isn´t going to make me change my mind.

Sorry but I feel it the way that some bands are worth of boycott.
These count for me. I won´t support ANY band with ideals of white and jews-free America. If you want to it´s your decission.
