What I find interesting is how so many folks think that the personnel actually dictate the direction of Ozzy records. Doesn't anyone remember when they re-did Ozzmosis so it would sound like soundgarden?

And that was after the No More Tears album had been recorded three separate times and mixed four.

Lemmy Kilmister and John Purdell were a big part of the writing team on No More Tears.

There was a whole handful of people involved in Ozzmosis, including Steve Vai. Zakk is barely credited for half the album.

Zakk didn't write any of the songs for Down To Earth

Under Cover didn't even have Zakk on it, it was all Jerry Cantrell...granted, it's a covers album.

Zakk came back for Black Rain (which is a fuckin weak album), so now Ozzy thinks Zakk is rubbing off on him too much? I think the last album must have been incredibly rushed...or had Sharon in the background barking about how he could put out anything and people would buy it...or something.

I think it's fine he goes without Zakk, I think expanding horizons is a great thing on occasion...but blaming his shitty album sales on the last album and fear of having a repeat of such poor response on Zakk is kinda pathetic.
