Ozzy and Zakk split up D:

wow, i'm surprised zakk didnt quit ozzy first. the last two times i saw ozzy in the last 3 years, zakk was visibly pissed at ozzy onstage cuz ozzy was off and sounded terrible. but finding out second hand through the news... damn, thats harsh!

as for John 5... dont judge him by his Manson albums. Manson's a complete control freak, those riffs are not John 5's. You wanna hear what he can do, check out his solo album. he does all styles and kicks ass. i'd definitely be interested to hear what he can do with ozzy.

that would be awesome..I always wondered why veterans like Ozzy and Dio don't recruit a young metal euro wizard to write there newset albums..

A guy like Gus G seems more in tune with what Ozzy should be doing that any American guitarist

actually gus is influenced by zakk i think...you can hear it in his playing i've seen firewind 2 times live.....

A big-ol +1 to that. John 5 shreds...he can shred chicken-pickin shit just as well, if not better, than Zakk. Judging him from Manson/Two/Zombie is not giving him the respect he deserves...he's played for David Lee Roth, and anyone who can fill the shoes of EVH/Jason Becker/Steve Vai/etc can easily hold thier own. J5 has obviously jobbed for the sake of getting his name out there, and I'm suprised that he's as underrated as he apparently is.

yeah i agree john is a great guitarist very underrated...his solo stuff is great

I don't really see Gus G auditioning, things are working great for him with firewind. For a session or a fill-in thing yes, definetly, as he did for Arch enemy, but for a permanent position... Well we'll have to wait and see.
I would rather see Jake Lee back with ozzy though.

His stage name is John 5 for fucks sake.

That alone should eliminate him from anything that has to do with real metal.

Also, I find it very unlikely that this will stick. This has happened like two or three times before, and Ozz has always wound up with Zakk again. Fuck all this shit though, let's have a new BLS album that fucking rocks! (ie NOT another STH)

I think thats kinda shallow. Nobody was flippin Buckethead shit for joining G&R, his stage name is just as lame. John 5 is a goofball and has a gimmick he likes...it says nothing about how well he can play. It seems to garner him more name throwing than John Lowery, his real name. I don't want it to sound like I'm a big fanboy or anything but he would fill the shoes just as well as Gus G.

Maybe George Lynch could finally get his shot, since he lost out 2x already :P

John 5 is IMO one of the most proficient and versatile players out these days. He can play anything and everything and is a real team player. He is a safe bet.

Well Zakk is way past his prime (what a shame actually), but blaming him for albums he didn't even have the chance to contribute any writing to, is just wrong. The last Ozzy record he wrote ended up being BLS's "1919 Eternal"... and that was a good album in my book.

Sure it's shallow, but your stage name says alot about how you present yourself, and how you want to be percieved by others. If you name yourself something like that, then you are quite clearly stating that you are not my cup o' tea.

And Buckethead (which is an awesome name) joining GnR is nothing but a travesty, no matter how skilled he is. A band like GnR relies so much on their image and stage apperence, and BH couldn't possibly be a worse fit. And let's not even talk about "Bumblefoot". :goggly: That's actually a pretty good comparison, John 5 with Ozzy would be like GnR with BH/BF. A travesty.

Well, i think letting Buckethead joining any band at all is just a terrible idea.. He is such a horrible player that relies 100% on his effects.. Take them away and it would sound like those "shred"-videos on youtube!

Naah, but id love to see George Lynch team up with Ozzy, i bet it would make an awesome record!
