Paradise Lost Samples

Jesus Christ Jax must get so annoyed with our constant investigation of every little rumor we hear and it turns into a 12 page thread of arguments.

Then Jax comes in and has to act like the forum parent and shut us up or the thread will end up being 45 pages of arguments and speculation.

I for one would like to thank Jax for her hard work of moderating this incredibly argumentative and speculative forum! :headbang:

I'd just like to say, about my post, before conclusions are jumped at... I am in no way mocking or whatevering Jax... I respect her as a forum mod/admin, and my post is/was meant in friendly jest. :D

The Symphony X on-line "community" seems to be overrun by "politics" these days. It is sad to see Symphony X fans bickering so much. I've been a Symphony X fan since 1996. It's been a fantastic 11 years of musical greatness! Symphony X is by far the best progressive metal band to ever hit the "scene". They consistently deliver amazing music album after album.
The only bad thing about a new Symphony X album is the long WAIT until the NEXT one!
Some people have raised concerns about "Paradise Lost".
Is it like their previous works?
Is it heavy?
Is it melodic?
Is there enough Michael Pinella in there?

Guys.... we're talking about SYMPHONY X here!
DO NOT WORRY.
The new album kicks a truckload of ASS... and we will all BUY it when it hits the store shelves!
( And most of us will try and see them on the road when they start touring again. )

I LOVE Romeo's guitar sound on the new album.
Someone said his new guitar sound is too "Marshall-esque".
Yeah, and that might not be such a bad thing.
The Marshall sound is known for it's mid-range BITE.
I'm not sure what Romeo used to record his guitar tracks on the new album, but his sound has certainly improved!
His guitars have more clarity, and they are way more prominent in the mix this time around.
Some people say it might be the Caparison guitar he is using now.
That might be a part of it, but I think there is more to it.

It's a terrible SHAME there is a "gag-order" on this forum.
The new album has already "leaked", as they ALL DO.... and it would be kinda nice to be able to discuss the songs in greater detail.
There is never anything wrong with POSITIVE promotion, and that is why bands release "PROMO" copies of their new albums in the first place!
They want to get the "energy" rolling for the new release!

I'll refrain from discussing anything in detail.... for now.... but I will say that as a lifelong devoted fan of Symphony X, I am totally blown away by the new album!

Very soon it will be released, and we will all be CELEBRATING!!!

~Mr. Mantis~

it's out of respect for the band. They made the music and they want no talk about the leak. It's not the forum that is telling you, it's Mr. Romeo and company themselves.

Mr. Romeo doesn't like the internet.

Which is a shame, because so much of his "marketing" comes from the internet.

As long as they keep writing and playing music, i'll be happy.

Not liking the internet is something i just can't understand. Seriously... there's so much pornography on the internet. for FREE. How can you not like something that gives and gives and asks for so little in return?

no no, that is a pro. a con would be you and cs:s.

I meant con to what MrFast said. :p

I don't play CS:S any more (and I only spent a few months playing it before I got bored, and realised it was wasting precious bass-time), thank fuck... I might sell my steam account or something... help fuel some GAS. :kickass:

I think Marshall is faaaar overrated, but that's my opinion ;)

Welcome Mr. Mantis Warrior! I agree 100% with almost everything you've posted, but you knew that already! :heh:

I don't think Marshall's are overrated, like anything else, you just have to find THE one that suits your ears. I ditched Marshall for Mesa in 2000, after 15 happy years. It would not surprise me if MJR's tone comes from layering both his tried & true Triax, along with his Vetta (II?). No matter WHAT he plays through, it still will always sound like MJR...
