Pet Peeves

I basically just said fuck it- Ill record it to wav and convert to mp3 myself... actually made them more bassy for some reason, but it's a plus in this case :p

The first clip is (tentatively) titled "Relapse"

and the second clip is called "Spastic Chromatic Aberration" (based ~loosely~ around notes chromatic to one another.. the notes in the chords aren't chromatic but the movements are..kinda..whatever...The earlier half of the song fits the description more than this part) 'Spastic' was thrown in there because there's these 2 parts that sound like Jarzombek had an influence on.

Let me know what ya'll think.

EDIT if anyone wants to hear those after the link has expired, tell me and I'll reupload them.

Listen to "Tap That Angel" -the whole song is tapped on guitar on bass, seriously incredibly beautiful. excellent bassist and guitarist. I highly advise everyone to check them out.

Anyways I'm getting off track. I said before I'd post something, but now I'm just thinking that if anyone says they want to hear it, I'll post it, but if none, then I'll leave it alone.

Wow, that's a very nice song! Nice atmosphere and very awesome playing!

I think you are doing pretty well writing the bass parts there zyquix. There is a good trade off between counterpoint and unison parts happening I think. I liked the slap parts you put in there too. Very Tony Choy I think. The only thing I thought was a bit cheesy was the anticedence/consequence thing you wrote on 'relapse'. I think that it might be more interesting if you had the bass doing something different to what the guitar does there. I could hear the bass playing the second part of that run right after the guitar does the first time. I can see what you are doing there though and that is just my take on it. Overall I think you are doing a good job with the bass parts. You will have bassplayers picketing for equal rights in no time. It would be interesting to hear a live band playing those pieces, also to hear them in a more arranged context perhaps?

Thanks Frank and Nothing, I'm very into Atheist and Choy, so hey, maybe I take after him, ha. And I'll consider the guitar/bass tradeoff thing- I remember when I wrote that it was just automatic, and didn't think about it, but I will now.
