Playing with giant picks

I just recorded a song with 2mm Dunlop Big Stubbies, and I really enjoy the way it came out:

Obviously part of it is that I purposely made the bass really beefy in the mix, but I think the thick pick imparted a unique quality to the guitars too. And maybe it's because I'm 5'6 with arms the size of chopsticks, but it felt much more powerful when I was doing alt picking and triplets. Anybody else a fan?

2mm ones cool for sweeps, but too slippy, knock stuff out of tune too quick.

EJ's signature Jazz 3's I like the most, not stiff as a board like regular once, ever so slight give in them.

I've been playing the black tortex jazz iii's and I now HATE larger picks. They just feel klunky to me.

The guitarist I work with (I'm a drummer) and I tested out about 10 guitar picks in some down time of a recording session. It seems like the thicker the pick, the harder the pick attack in the recorded tone. We ended up using the thicker picks for the heavier sections and lighter picks for the lighter parts. Subtle, but it worked VERY well!
