porcupine tree VS type o negative

Totally different bands, really. I might say I'd slightly prefer Porcupine Tree, cuz theyre a bit more consistent, although Type O Negative are still great. But, really, they can't really be compared as their music is very different in nature.

Isn't Type-O-Negative that band with the really hideous-looking singer?

Only thing of theirs I heard/saw was a clip on some nu-metal compilation tape and it didn't strike me as all too flash.

So going from that limited experience, I'd take PT.

I suppose I will be the black sheep and side with Type O Negative. Next to Opeth, ToN is one of my favorites. Porcupine Tree is way down the list. However, like it has been said, this is a shit comparison.

1. "Slow, deep and hard" (1991) by Type O Negative is a truly fantastic album. Highly recommended.
2. Opeth supported TON in Germany a few years ago.
3. As for TON vs Porcupine Tree, well, should they ever play two different venues the same day, I'd go and see the latter.

Ditto. I like Type O but PT I just find so boring. No offense to anyone.
