Post a part of your favorite anathema lyrics!

No one can find me
Here in my soul
Kicking and screaming
Out of control

Calm myself down
Nobody knows
No one can find me
Here in my soul
---------------------

Countless times I trusted you,
I let you back in,
Knowing... Yearning... you know
I should have run... but I stayed

Maybe I always knew,
My fragile dreams would be broken for you.
------------------------------------

The bittersweet taste of fate
We can't outrun the past
Destined to find an answer
A strength I never lost
I know there is a way,
My future is not set,
For the tide has turned
But still I never learned to live
without regret.
-----------------------------------

Trapped in time
A miracle of hope and change
A swirling mass, no mercy now
If the truth hurts prepare for pain
-------------------------------

Judgement

All the hate that feeds our needs
All the sickness you conceive
All the horror you create
It will bring you to your knees

And the times when we were young
When life seemed so long

Day after day
You burned it all away...

FAVE INDEED!! :) :) :) :) :) +

As I drift away,
Far away from you,
I feel all alone
In a crowded room.

And as for the chickens, that's totally ripped off from the CD on the Shooting Stars book. There's a track on it when Vic Reeves does a version of Earth Song by Michael Jackson 'in the style of a club singer', and halfway through he starts singing "what about dogs, what about cats, what about chickens".

Fucking hilarious!

Well:eek: I never knew that. I thought Digger made it up:eek:

No one seems to care anymore
as I wander through this night all alone
No one feels the pain I have inside
Looking at this world through my eyes

Genius

I like it more when people say what they do like in stead of what they don't, although I have to agree this is not one of Anathema's lyrical highlights.
Terry, what do you think is the best piece of text from Amused to death?
' By the grace of god almighty and the pressures of the market place the human race has civilized itself', looks a pretty accurate analysis to me.

:D Yeah, but these lyrics are written by Dave Pybus, and he isn't exactly the person who passed his peronal style in anathema's music and lyrics... :D
