Target - Captured
Cobra - First Strike
Gary Hoey - Dust & Bones
The Ann Wilson Thing - #2
The Dead Daisies - Make Some Noise

I picked up two albums today.

The first was the deluxe edition of the new Sabaton album The Last Stand.

The second one was Down In The Hole by Kiefer Sutherland (yes, the actor).

Alice Cooper- The Studio Albums 1969-83
Judas Priest- The Complete Albums Set

I love box sets so have been collecting those lately.

I've also been collecting all the Death remastered and extended edition albums. I've been a fan of theirs since '88/'89.

do you guys have a local shop that sells a lot of good metal releases?
i live in south mississippi and the closest record store is 2 hours away and is too small to be called a record store because its shared with a cafe and their selection is pretty fucking boring
i got choice guts by carcass on record store day but thats the only time theyll take in metal releases
everything else i have to order online and its a pain in the ass

There are some chains nearby, and if I go downtown San Jose (Costa Rica) I may find 2-3 specialized metal stores. But I have found in my experience that:

1) if I like it, I already have it, way before they carry it.
2) what they usually carry, I don't like.

So I keep purchasing online.

the purchasing online thing sucks because you pay more to wait more
plus you dont get the experience of flipping through some music in a nice environment

Well until recently that USPS rise the fee on international S&H, was actually cheaper to buy online than locally. Nowadays maybe is around the same price, but again locally the bands whose albums I dig never show up, or turn months after the release.

We have some good local record shops around here in the Bay Area. There's Amoeba and Rasputin's in SF and Berkeley. Plus a couple smaller ones. There's a great on on the outskirts of Berkeley that have some awesome black metal records.
