Lots of stuff lately:

71LeWbqDbBL._SL1500_.jpg

Angle grinder. For 10 dollars more I could've purchased a Hitachi with a hard case but for 22 dollars and free shipping, it'll get me started with my workshop

91Z8uGn9kWL._SL1500_.jpg

4.5 inch bench vise. I bought a similar sized Irwin vise for twice the money and this one seems way sturdier so I may switch this one to my workshop and put the Irwin on my basement workbench

61lHFCcpZiL._SL1500_.jpg

Digital antenna. I plan on getting rid of Cable TV soon since I really only use it to watch the news and I can accomplish that with this 11 dollar antenna. Should save me 60 bucks a month.

The band on my Fossil snapped apart and didn't want to deal with changing the battery in my watch anyway. Never buy Fossil watches. It did last me 2+ years but the quality wasn't what I expected.

I've wanted a Benchmade ever since my ex told me about them. Figured it was time since I sold some stuff on eBay.

So my drums don't get any more scratched up when I take them to gigs. Still need a separate bag for the 14" floor tom.

Ordered a bunch of DVDs and blu rays the other day, I kinda went a bit crazy last week with purchases:

Run, Chrissie, Run! DVD
(Directed by Chris Langman back in 1986, basically combining gritty punky ozploitation cinema with female lead action cinema heroism, this looks fucking cool.)

Road House DVD
(Classic movie obviously, featuring Patrick Swayze and directed by Rowdy Herrington back in 1989. It's retarded that I didn't already own this on DVD.)

The Blob DVD
(Awesome movie that I just never got around to replacing my VHS copy of. Directed by Chuck Russell in 1988 who also did Nightmare on Elm Street part 3 the year before The Blob, which itself is a remake of the original The Blob released exactly 30 years before this. I prefer this version myself.)

McCabe and Mrs. Miller DVD
(Grabbed this entirely on the strength of @no country for old wainds' recommendation and praise. He also called it a "anti-western western" which interests me! Directed and released back in 1971 by Robert Altman, who did the MASH movie the year prior and also did Thieves Like Us in 1974 which is a film I really dig so I'm keen to see this one.)

Cannibal Apocalypse DVD
(Ever since the day Ultimo Mondo Cannibale melted my brain into nacho cheese I've wanted to see this but could never track the DVD or VHS down. Antonio Margheriti's grubby 1980 cannibal/vietnam veteran exploitation film starring John Saxon iirc.)

Fair Game DVD
(A woman who runs an animal sanctuary in the outback is harassed and attacked by three demented kangaroo hunters, she fights back and thus one of my favourite films in one of my favourite subgenres is born. Ozploitation meets women's revenge, directed back in 1986 by Mario Andreacchio. This movie rules.)

Troma's War blu ray
(Fairly classick Troma, directed by Kaufman and Herz back in 1988, this one rules. Tons of fun, cheesy acting, pointless explosions, gratuitous violence and total DIY schlock like only Kaufman and Herz can do. If the entire cast of First Blood II or Chuck's Missing in Action were replaced by retards and directed by a seedy porn merchant, you'd get Troma's War.)

Assault on Precinct 13 blu ray
(Back in 1976 John Carpenter was actually criticised for this film's seemingly nonexistent care for the humanity of its characters and the overall ultra violence, also it was slammed as a right-wing reactionary film by some due to the way it makes police into the victims, which is funny considering how openly left-wing John Carpenter is. It's imo a film of its time, sitting nicely among Death Wish, Dirty Harry, Taxi Driver etc.)

The Beyond (aka L'aldilà) blu ray
(The second film in Fulci's 'Gates of Hell' trilogy, released in 1981. I remember this one being a pretty abstract film with not much story to follow but a shitload of images that themselves are their own kind of coherence. It's been awhile so I'm looking forward to revisiting this.)

Just watched this movie with my girlfriend, it was awesome. Carpenter's own music adds the special touch that's needed.

All three of the Gates of Hell films could be described that way. For The Beyond, Fulci purposely designed the film to be abstract, his reasoning being the storyline being as fantastical as it is, any semblance of reality or coherence had to be discarded, the same way most nightmares work. A truly incredible film with some of the more striking imagery in all of Italian horror, a wonderful score and amazing gore effects.
2018 additions to my blu-ray collection

Superb selection! Top tier Argento and Cronenberg picks.
