PPUSA X predictions

(Ozric Tentacles and Opeth)

+1 for both! Now that would be cool.:headbang::kickass::headbang:

Glenn came close to booking Opeth for PPUSA III, before they'd ever toured the States....the band was willing, but the bean-counters were less so. :(

I can't see him ever booking Ozrics, which is a pity, since they have a surprising amount of crunch in some of their stuff....particularly live.

While I think Turisas might be a little too heavy for this festival as it's hard to imagine their set without a massive moshpit, if they played PP, I would dance like a fool the entire set. I didn't even dare step foot in the pit when they played in Montreal. It'd be nice knowing I can be in the crowd making a fool of myself and not worry about getting pummeled from behind. However, I remember rumors of them being back again this year so by PPX, they could potentially be doing a third tour in less than 2 years.

i am sure Glenn has something special planned for PPX but here are some of the bands i would like to see who have not played in awhile.

Symphony X
NightWish
Tarot
Brainstorm
Evergrey
Silent Force
Kamelot

Bring Viggo back in some shape or form. Love this guy's guitar playing.

Thanks,
Brand

I will keep on plugging Bloodbath, hehe, especially after jamming out to their dvd the pass few days, their music just is so brutal, but yet still has so much melody in the guitar lines, and on top of all that, it still grooves while slaying. I still think the perfect oddball would be Vintersorg, because all of his discs are just amazing and i think they fit into every genre, and they would blow all minds, especially if Digiorgio and Asgeir were to play with him. Vintersorg is still he only artist that would make me definately travel, except maybe Lost Horizon, but with the singer from their 2 discs, because I don't think they will ever find a replacement for that guy ever, but I could be surprised.

I'll throw two more into the fray. SABATON and MYSTIC PROPHECY. Add NOCTURNAL RITES and I'd go to PPX regardless of who else is playing. SABATON, like Zod said is going to be fucking huge! Go to their myspace page and check out "Cliffs of Gallipoli". None of you will be disappointed!

Having been to only one prior PPUSA (last year) many of you have seen bands, and are quite possibly tired of seeing them, that I have yet to see. Still, there are other bands that I suspect have not played PPUSA that I have yet to see. Then there are bands that I've seen before and want to see again. All that's as clear as mud, right?

Some selections from the following would make me happy....

Akashic
Pagan's Mind
Therion
Kopiklaani (these guys have to be so much fun live!)
Mystic Prophecy
Pink Cream 69
Scar Symmetry (there are some clean vocals in there....okay maybe not a lot)
Saxon
Vanden Plas (though I have no idea of their eligibility to return Stateside)
Brainstorm
Nostradameus
Falconer
Orphaned Land
Tarot
Eidolon
Excalion
Mob Rules

Guess that's enough......hope I didn't pick some band that is now defunct although given the large gaps in my knowledge of band history it's entirely possible!!

Akashic

Ok, we need some female input here even though I know it is a SAUSAGE fest :)... so, I'll put in my vote for Akashic. They are a band I found out about a couple years ago, and LOVE the song "Dove". Great band from Brazil!!

Others on my wish list would be:

SUSPYRE (sorry, kinda biased on that one)
Within Temptation
Royal Hunt
Delain
Nightwish
Shadow Gallery (haha, just kidding, that's like a pipe dream)
Behold...The Arctopus
Mindflow
...and how about a Mystic Force reunion?
Circus Maximus

ok i know there are others I want, but I am having a brain fart.

I definitely can picture Orphaned Land coming back, and as mentioned in an earlier post they will have a new release late 2008/early '09.

Scar Symmetry would be cool.

How 'bout Fish or h from Marillion? That would be cool.

Oooooh, what about O.S.I.??????

This would make an excellent PPUSA in the future!:kickass:

I would love to see Orphaned Land again, they kicked my ass when I saw them at progpower. They are the next best thing to Opeth, only with different folk(acoustic) influences, even though I can't say enough how much that the top 4 bands I want to see live are Vintersorg, Bloodbath, Diabolical Masqeurade, and Edge of Sanity.
