PPUSA X predictions

Having been to only one prior PPUSA (last year) many of you have seen bands, and are quite possibly tired of seeing them, that I have yet to see. Still, there are other bands that I suspect have not played PPUSA that I have yet to see. Then there are bands that I've seen before and want to see again. All that's as clear as mud, right?

Some selections from the following would make me happy....

Pagan's Mind
Therion
Kopiklaani (these guys have to be so much fun live!)
Scar Symmetry (there are some clean vocals in there....okay maybe not a lot)

The new Scar Symmetry CD reportedly has more clean vox than growlies...an unusual step these days when it seems like growls are kewl.

Vanden Plas (though I have no idea of their eligibility to return Stateside)
Brainstorm
Orphaned Land
Tarot

:headbang:

So im sitting at Graspop right now, I can see In Flames playing.

I know that a lot of bands are out of PP's budget, but SABATON is small and on the rise and kicked ass this morning. I knew one of their songs, wasnt impressed, but they were phenomenal.

and to whoever said Korpiklaani must be a lot of fun live...i wouldve agreed before today. Not a huuuge fan, but I find them enjoyable and it was a letdown

Id recommend Alestorm as well if we were allowed to move at PP. Good show, a guy crowdsurfed by in a boat.

I really think SCAR SYMMETRY has a shot. I know they've toured here in the States, but now with their growling vocals diminished even more (though I don't mind growling), I really believe they would fit in nicely at PPX.

I actually hope that for the 10th anniversary we don't get reappearing bands. I have enjoyed every progpower that i've been to thus far, but we seem to be getting stuck in the same bands. A lot of the threads i read are about Astral Doors, Nocturnal Rites, Everygrey or bands that already appear in Progpower. Nothing wrong with that, I love thoses bands but i like change. I like going to ProgPower and not having a clue who the band is and been totally blown away. The Case of Brainstorm comes to mind. I was like who the hell are this guys and i was totally blown. I went an bought their album right after their set. and if we are going to honored people from past Progpower, Symphony X and Into Eternity. Especially Into Eternity for not been respected for what they did. I know plenty people were totally againts them.

I don't understand why you mentioned Astral Doors or Nocturnal Rites as "bands who previously appeared at ProgPower," since they didn't.

Anyways, I know the feeling about getting surprised by a band at a show. It worked that way with me many times before, and it's a damn good feeling.

I don't think he meant them to be included in the played before. I think he just meant that he'd prefer big surprises over bands that everyone seems to request every year. Which we'll likely still get regardless of repeats and/or often requested bands. Glenn loves throwing out curve balls when he can.

Yeah i meant i always prefer the opening bands to be new odd bands that mostly no one has ever heard because that way we get to hear something new. From reading the threads i keep seen the same band names over and over.

Any of these bands:

Andre Matos
Angra
Dreamtale
Evergrey
Freedom Call
Heavenly
Impellitteri
Leverage
Lost Horizon
Machine Men
Masterplan
Nocturnal Rites
Axel Rudi Pell
Pretty Maids
Pyramaze
Running Wild
Silent Force
Vanden Plas

Actually... I won't be surprise if Vanden Plas makes it to PPX, as for the legal issues they had for PPVIII. They are a great band and i was very much looking forward to them. So i think Glenn will try to get them for PPX at all cost. 2 bands that i won't mind at all are either Heavenly or Freedom Call. Long live CHEESY power metal!!!

Unexpect would make me happy.
I just found out about them and I messed myself severely. :kickass:
Um...Crimson Glory needs to play PP at least once, for Heaven's sake.
Circus Maximus would be ultra-sweet.
Mob Rules would be pretty sweet, too.

I have to revise my list from a few months back.

TAROT
Volbeat
PYRAMAZE
ASTRAL DOORS
VOTUM
ORDEN OGAN
MACHINE MEN
VADEN PLAS
SYMPHONY X
LANDFEAR
SHADOW GALLERY (Hey It is the Tenth anniversary)
Scar Symmetry (finally)

falconer and nocturnal rites getting on the bill? :D
would be awesome.
maybe wishful thinking but i woudl say lost horizon also. i dont even know if they ever found a replacement singer yet, but if they did and he can live up to the first one, they would be great as well
