Problem with Porcelain Heart

Even if that happen, it's still taste and your point is still invalid to me. You don't like it (relative facts), yeah, that's fine, but saying that things ARE this way (static facts) is wrong.

Agree totally, but too many people seem to think their opinions are indeed fact, and that a band can be irrevocably 'shit' without reasoning.

I find it interesting people are willing to crucify Opeth over one song. Metallica put out 5 albums of vomit trash and people still love them. I never understood that.

I like P.H, not the strongest point on the album for me, but it is an interesting contrast to Burden and I find it flows (not well, that is the point of contrast texture).

Thought I never picked up on TGC's riff in P.H.

because metallica/load/reload were all wonderfully crafted albums, but they weren't what people expected from metallica. especially load/reload. there's plenty of win on those albums imoafaik. though they would have been better suited to cut the shit songs (bad seed, attitude, ronnie etc) and make the good ones a single album. ttytt I enjoy load/reload more than a lot of albums, on any given day.

I feel the same way about those albums to. In reality they aren't too far from the records C.O.C. were releasing at the same time, which were also excellent. I always felt that they could of maybe cut 4 songs from each and gotten away with them (probably same with 'The Black Album' as well), but y'know, that is only going to lose you precious 'underground points' around these parts, admitting that those albums actually have some merit.

if you think I care about "underground points" from the um: opeth forum, you're nuts :erk: thats, in part, what arasmas's thread is about (from what I can gather).

I love Porcelain Heart. Soooo atmospheric. There's like a texture to this song, makes my skin crawl in a good way. Mellotron heart is dull as heck though.

Epic fail, re-read what I said. Taste has jack shit to do with my point, I was focusing on genre changes.

*edit
I liked some songs from the two albums, Fixxxer is an awesome song.
