Anathma, it used to be a doom metal band, but the last discs (Eternity, Alternative 4, Judgement, A fine Day to Exit, A Natural Disaster) are ambiental prog rock, it kicks ass

(Sorry to the more serious DT fans, but that's what I think.)

I've been a DT fan since IAW in '92. I'd say I'm fairly serious about the band, if one can be serious about a band. I thought that SFAM was a huge step forward in vocal melodies. I can only think of one song that was a wankfest.. The Dance of Eternity, but an oh so brilliant wankfest.

@Met2 - I'm not in love with the album, but there are a couple of songs that are good. For DT, that's not a good ratio. I know it's all personal opinion, and I certainly don't fault DT for doing something they love. I just got to sit that album and tour out. Frankly, I'm kind of shocked that I didn't miss not seeing them. I hope that Octavarium kicks my ass.
