ProgPower USA VII: Two Bands Confirmed

Wow, I came back to check the PP site and was surprised to see two bands listed so soon!!!!!

I'm very excited about the Pyramaze, I've heard nothing but good things about this band. Looks like I'll have to load up on some cds before the show...

Two excellent choices.... Wastefall being described as a heavier version of Pain of Salvation is right on the money IMO.... I cant wait to see what the next 2 are gonna be!!!! :headbang:

I'm happy about Pyramaze. I look forward to seeing them play for the first time. That's definitely a good example of people dropping band names a lot and next thing you know, they're signed to PP! Hell it was because of people mentioning them so much on this forum, that I checked them out.

Wastefall does sound PoSish, but better. After a first listen to only those 2 songs, I'm not big on Wastefall's singer, but the bassist is definitely good! From that last song, I see they like to be eclectic, which is nice. I'll check out the other songs on their website, after work.

I am SO STOKED that Pyramaze is opening the festival on Friday! Definitely, definitely great news to start out my New Year!

I count my lucky metal-stars that I was one of about 30-40 people to experience Pyramaze's North American "debut" at a metal fest in Minneapolis in 2004. To say that this band is screaming, blazing, mad-good is an understatment. After more than a year of touring and a new album, I can only imagine what their ProgPower 7 appearance will be like!!!

Thank you very much Glenn on what, in my opinion, is a sensationally good choice for an opener!

Hey Swordzy, i was wondering when you would chime in, great to see ya and HAPPY NEW YEAR Bro, and ain't this the greatest way to start the new year, PYRAMAZE at PPVII.

Actually, he didn't indicate which band would open which day, but given that Pyramaze was listed first, it's probably safe to assume that it will be Pyramaze who open the festival - especially given Glenn's preference for opening the show with a heavier hitter.

P.S. - Glenn, I LOVE how you shaked things up a little this year to get us some information as soon as possible. First class all the way.

Damn was it really that long ago?

I guess it would have been since we both talked about it at PPV. For ONCE I can say I've actually heard and seen one of these bands before they play ProgPower! Now I really feel like one of the club!

I figured Pyramaze would get on this...I haven't heard too much of them, but there seems to be constant mentions of them in general and on wishlists, it seemed like it was almost getting Conception-like (i.e. every year there were 10 "Bring Pyramaze!" threads).

Thanks Glenn!
