question for Mr. Åkerfeldt

hey there mike. i have read in several interviews that
you do NOT really like what has been coming out of the
metal scene these days. (except Katatonia of course)

my question is have you heard Rapture, Saturnus, and
Shape of Despair?? i can understand if you don't want
to rate these bands, but what is the metal of
this time period lacking in your opinion?!

IMHO, these artists have achieved a certain caliber as
you achieved with your debut.

I've heard Rapture...I was pretty amazed how similar to Katatonia's "Brave" they sounded...they even got that production.
No, I don't like much new stuff...then again I don't look for it.

It's not like I don't hear new releases at all. Anders is a dear friend of mine and I have all the DM albums and love em all. He should get more recognition for this. I think it's the most insane Black metal since I don't know when.

I got the new Emperor album but I haven't listened to it yet. I did like the last Madder mortem Cd...shit, that's all new metal I can remember hearing lately...
